Eye Gotcha Optometric — Local services in San Francisco

I had Lasik surgery 10+ years ago and loved the results; however, age has creeped up on me and it is time to admit that corrective lenses are in my future (luckily, eyeglasses have once again become de rigueur as a fashion accessory).

I saw Susan, one of two optometrists in Eye Gotcha's tasteful and spacious office. My experience was not just the best eye exam I've ever had, but possibly the best medical exam I've ever had. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming. Susan herself took the time to explain everything she was doing: the procedures, what they measured, why our eyes change as we age, and the options we have. She didn't even blink when I told her that I was purchasing frames and lenses elsewhere, and only wanted an exam and prescription. There was never any attempt to upsell me on frames or accessories.

Eye Gotcha is open 7 days a week and has evening appointments, which makes it so convenient. The office accepts VSP (the most common commercial eye insurance used by employers) and my exam...

Fantastic. Best selection I've seen in the greater Bay Area. It tends to the outre, maybe, but that's part of the fun. And it's nothing but high quality. I'm on my third pair from these good people.

The one time they did my prescription, it was dead on. Very happy in that department, too.

And the people couldn't be nicer or more competent. Lyndsey helped me with my last two pair. When I came in and suggested (roughly and ineloquently) what I had in mind, she came back with a handful of great suggestions. Which in both cases included the frames I ended up buying. (I had looked over the whole collection.) She also fixed the one pair when I bent them. Perfect. Good as new. And she couldn't be more pleasant to work with.

This place is amazing! I've been going here for years and years, and they are always patient, willing to work with me and all my weird requests, always warranty back their work, and are super friendly. I've gone other places and have been very disappointed when they mess up my prescription multiple times, or forget coatings I paid for, and the glasses get sent back multiple times. I'm done with messing around with places that aren't quality; I'm willing to bring my glasses prescription here to get it filled from an hour away, because I know eye gotcha will get it done right.
