Read moreI used to love coming here, but the quality of service has varied so much that I don't always have a positive experience here anymore, so I don't come here as often now or I just do takeout.
Food: The food and drink offerings here are generally consistent and good - some of my go-to items are flat white, brekkie board, and athletes burrito. Both the dine-in and takeout (including ordering in -app) experiences are usually pretty seamless, though as expected there may be a longer wait time if they're busy.
Service: As mentioned the service here hasn't been consistent. In a recent visit, I was excited to bring me mom here for brunch since she was visiting SF for the first time in years and has never tried Bluestone. We asked for a hardcopy menu for her because she was having a lot of difficulty reading the digital one via the QR code and the server kept saying no and that we had to order online. I understand that we have to order online (I was going to order for her on my phone), but that's not what the issue was and even after several tries he was not listening to what we were asking for and why. Finallyy another staff member listened to us and brought us a paper menu for her to read more easily. In another visit, I came with a friend for a drink deal which was not applied when we ordered on the QR code as she said it would, and so the deal wasn't honoured and we had to pay full price. What's the point of having the deals if they don't work?
Ambiance: I usually try to avoid coming to Bluestone on weekends - on weekdays the ambiance is pretty chill and relaxed, and I've never had issues with getting a...
Read moreSo, I came into this place hoping I could dine-in. I was wandering around (didn’t see the “wait here for a table notice,” that’s my bad) for a minute and the barista came in and asked if he could help. I said yes, I would like to order and he asked if this was my first time. I said yes and then he pointed to the sign to wait. Well, at that moment I changed my mind because I felt like this was going to take long so, I clearly asked him, “if I want to order TO GO (with the emphasis on the to go part) do I still have to wait?” And the answer was, “yes, wait there. This is a restaurant!.” Uhm… rude?? Like, I understand that much? And I changed my decision, wanted to order to go, because I didn’t want to wait there? Which part of “to go,” orders have to wait until a server comes to check in with you? I asked again, that I wanted to order. But, to go. He still wanted for me to wait. 🙃 Oh well, he should know better, he’s an employee. Who am I? So, I said, “okay…I’ll wait.” And I waited and after a while, another server came to ask “would you like a table?” And I said, no, I wanted to order “to go.” And then I was again showed to the billing counter. Again at the billing counter I was put through the same “you have to wait there for a table.” I said again, “no, I want to order to go.” And here we are, many minutes later, this person finally understood what I wanted. My order took a minute to complete. But I was sent from here to there and there to here for 15 minutes. This was honestly, disappointing! It would be nice if you have someone at the billing counter to help people. Someone who is designated for that...
