Iâd rate it around 4.5 stars, but Iâm rounding up here.||First off, I really appreciated the early check-in, which set a nice tone for our visit. The birthday cake waiting for us was a delightful surprise and made our celebration feel extra special. Our room was spacious and beautifully designed, with warm, inviting furniture, cozy throw blankets, and plush pillows that made it very comfortable. We loved the hotelâs focus on sustainability and the woodsy decorâit felt both luxurious and eco-friendly.||The spa, while on the smaller side, offered fantastic massages that were definitely a highlight of our stay. I did wish there were more communal spaces to relax together, as the outdoor areas were a bit too chilly for comfort during our visit. The gym, although compact, was well-equipped with a squat rack, leg press, heavy dumbbells, and all the essential cardio machines, which was a nice bonus.||One area that could use some improvement was the valet service. At $79 per day, the fee felt a bit steep, especially given our experience. We had a frustrating moment when we asked for our car for a dinner reservation just outside the complimentary drop-off radius. The valet attendant told us it would take 15-20 minutes to get our vehicle, but it seemed like our request was overlooked. After waiting the full 20 minutes, we noticed that our car hadnât even been started. It was only when another guest arrived to park that our vehicle was finally brought up. I expected a more proactive approach from the valet staff, especially since we were on a tight schedule.|We also ran into an issue with our folio upon departure. A credit that was supposed to be applied was missing, and we ended up waiting for it to be corrected. ||Unfortunately, we had to leave without a resolution, and when I later received the emailed folio, it was still incorrect. I had to call back to sort out the discrepancy.|On a brighter note, the in-room dining service was quite good, and the hotelâs location near the Embarcadero was perfect for our evening plans.||Overall, while we enjoyed our stay at 1 Hotel San Francisco and made some great memories, the valet experience and the issues with our departure folio were notable downsides. I would definitely consider returning...

What has happened to this place? It used to be ok, but I imagine management has changed recently since it has gone so far down hill so quickly. I just ordered a small, simple dinner after a long trip, they told me it would be here in 30 mins. 1 hour later itâs still not here. I called to check and got voice mail, then checked with the front desk who told me he would tell the manager immediately - I asked to talk with the manager directly, then he told me the manager actually wasnât there at all and actually he was just going to write something down and maybe a manager would see it tomorrow.
I eventually got a hold of someone in the restaurant and they told me they didnât know which room to deliver the food to so just left it in front of a random room on my floor. He then told me that the food was probably cold, but if I look around in the hall I could probably find it.
Just one issue after another here. But the first one was my fault - should have stayed somewhere else. Likely my last stay here after years of making this my home base in SF.
This does remind me of one other issue I had here a while back when my red eye got delayed. I came in late and exhausted and they had actually given my room away! They were totally full and I just had to go find another hotel in the middle of the night. What a...
