Conflicting dining experience when compared to reviews and photos posted.
Firstly, their small menu led us to the impression that they focus on what they do best, cutting the choice dilemma out of the equation. This promising sign took a turn when the food arrived close to an hour after placing our order.
Looking nothing like the dazzling photos I've seen featured by other review writers, I was disappointed not just by the presentation but also by the long wait.
The garnish was chopped haphazardly, splashed on there with little care. The smear glob of wasabi was as if it was an afterthought. Stringy maguro over rice was certainly not a choice cut.
Although crisp, the katsu was half sunken in the sauce, and the accompanying egg was overcooked. A sad, pathetic broccoli floret tucked next to the rice clump like it was ashamed to be in the bowl. The binding element of this dish was lackluster. It was reminiscent of store-bought S&B curry cubes. I cannot vouch for the taste of this curry.
The gyoza was insipid without the vinaigrette dipping sauce. However, the crunch of the starch crisp encircling the dumplings was a nice touch.
A far cry from a supposedly proud Japanese establishment. The attention to detail and craft did not come through. The hour wait was not worth my valuable time.
It saddens me that my experience did not live up to the claims of others who have dinned here. The food was baseline average and not a sensational five stars any means. Being seated outdoors made getting attention from the waiting staff a struggle.
At this rate, I refuse to jump to conclusions about a restaurant's lauding claims without digging deeper into contrasting opinions. Reviews like that frustrate me in that they don't serve much purpose outside of getting likes and views
My hard-earned money deserves the respect I put into earning it, and so should yours. Overall, an okay attempt but not enough to...
Read moretakoyaki came out freezing cold inside because they didn’t fry them enough. we told our waitress about it so she took it away. here’s the fun part. there were 5 takoyakis. both my friend and i had taken one each (but couldn’t eat after one bite because it was cold inside) so 3 takoyakis left in the bowl that they took back. they brought back the same three takoyaki balls after re-frying them in the same bowl they took back. 1. that’s gross that they would put the food that we already touched back to their fryer 2. we paid for 5 takoyakis but only got to eat 3? the two we took a bite out of were obviously not edible, and it’s incredibly cheap and stingy move to bring back only three because there were only three left lol if there is an issue with the food and u take it back to the kitchen, you are supposed to make a new plate/dish NOT refrying something that customers already touched and putting them back in the same plate. simply gross. i have never seen a restaurant do this.
aside from this, the spaghetti was also not good and the gyudon has tiny portion with a very stingy amount of meat. on top of this, the waitress charged my friend’s card twice. if we had not noticed and said anything, it would have stayed that way lol
horrible experience, would...

mentaiko spaghetti - 7/10 it was good but got to be way too much about halfway in. the pasta was really cheesy? i wish it was more creamy like other mentaiko pastas i’ve had. maybe they should make a version with uni
gyoza - 9/10 pretty standard, good. got that huge crispy disc thing at the bottom which i like
karaage burger thing - 9/10 ok this was really good. the buns are really perfectly shaped like burger buns it was adorable and yummy );
curry udon - 6/10 whatever
frozen beer - 8/10 i can’t really comment on this because i didn’t order it but i made my friend order it. looks really funny definitely something to order so u can laugh at it and take a picture . she said it was good
