DamnGood cocktails and delicious pizzas. Been here twice now and can’t wait to visit again! First time was for dinner with friends. Second visit was with my kiddo and husband.
It’s great to have these hidden gems in the outer Sunset. The space feels expansive with exposed beamed ceiling, big windows and a large communal dining table in the middle. The pizza oven anchors the space and then there’s a hallway that leads to a back patio area. Great art in the walls, everything ties together to make it feel hip but also warm and inviting.
There’s a smallish bar with great light fixtures on the wall. The cocktail menu has great twists on classics like a coconut lime margarita (sublime!!) and old fashioned, and a coffee liqueur cocktail…the drinks are Damntasty!
The zucchini with curry dipping sauce is a sleeper hit. SO GOOD. Tiny little zukes roasted with spices and paired with a tasty creamy curry dipping sauce that I used to dip my slices in. Pizzas are delicious-crust is chewy and crispy. Dad Jokes is fantastic with corn and tomatoes and the Acapulco is a spicy tangy salty dreamy. The classic pepperoni was divine and generously topped with little curled discs of meat. The Figgy Piggy is prosciutto and figs with arugula…fantastic
We also tried the bucatini with meatballs and it was surprisingly delicious (sometimes places that focus on one thing like pizza can sometimes mess with other items, but this was not the case)
This will be a regular spot for me and my family as well as for a causal night out with my pals.
Make reservations because it can get busy! Outdoor seating is available as well.
Servers were very nice but sometimes they seemed overwhelmed or like one person was super busy and others weren’t? It didn’t put a damper on the experience but it was noticed… there were times we waited a bit long for our drinks and food and check..
I added more pics! Since I wrote this review we ate here again in the back patio and it was lovely!! Tried different cocktails and our son had bucatini (we asked for less sauce and it was perfect). This time, the service was still a bit lagging Our server was hustling-and was attentive when she was present. I think the supporting crew has some opportunities to help out more (filling water, running plates, clearing plates etc.) things seemed uneven… Drinks still took a long time or come out..my hubby got his before I got mine and I waited. Parking is a hit or miss situation…you may find a spot a block or two away on...

If you live in the Sunset and are the lifeblood of these neighborhood businesses, you may want to consider this before you go next time:
We had a really terrible Fri night dining experience. Got there shortly after 6 pm and asked for the wait for a table with a high chair. Manager was helping hostess and said 15, maybe 30. That seemed doable. Parked, got the kids out of car seats walked over entertained them on sidewalk for an addl 15, 30, 45 minutes and when we were finally seated it wasn't for inside like we were waiting for it was seated patio ( which was fine on this fairly warm night but with all things it's about expectations).
When we sat down, we were given 3 waters for a table of 5. No menus. Our kids were so cranky so we had to order blindly without menu. There weren't enough plates when pizza came and no wait staff to alert too. But then at the end of the meal, the server came to push drinks on us towards 3 and 4 rounds. Aggressively pushed dessert which was a dry old chocolate cake. And then had the gall to say they needed the table, which considering what a bad beginning they had started us out with, they could've been a little generous with our family.
Totally sad cause I want to support a neighborhood business like this, but will definitely support others next time
I live in the neighborhood and this is a big bummer. If they had upfront " it's gonna be close to an hour" that would've let me know to just come back another night, and go to another neighborhood place with more capacity. Now after such a poor experience soup to nuts, I never want to...
Read moreLoved this place. My friend Chris has been trying to get me to eat here for over a year. Problem is, they don't deliver - anywhere - let alone where I live which is like 30 minutes away. They don't use the delivery app services either!
Annnnd now I understand why. They have a reputation for deliciousness that is well-deserved. So they don't HAVE to deliver, anywhere. People will just come to them.
The fried green tomatoes were incredible. Maybe the best I've ever had anywhere, although it's certainly their own take on the dish and not the traditional style.
The mushroom pizza was divine. It's why I came and had the place recommended to me to begin with; I was running my mouth about how I love a great mushroom pizza and this place immediately got mentioned.
We got another pizza too - the Slow 'n Low. SLOW ‘n LOW - it has slow-cooked pork shoulder, a spicy sauce and pickled onions - oh man. This is another dish I'd have to take a foodie visitor to experience when they come to town, because it was heck of delicious and I've never had anything like it.
The cocktail I got, the Bunnyhop - INCREDIBLY delicious drink. I'm one of those who doesn't love to taste her liquor in her drinks these days and basically I have become a huge baby with no tolerance. This drink was perfect for me, it was like a smooth mellow refreshing chamomile tea with honey, and perfectly floral-noted. The daisy floating all up ins was a nice touch too. Love me some edible flowers.
The name's no joke. A dang fine pizza and not a bad little patio to sit on with some friends and drinks, either. I wish I'd taken more pictures, but I was literally...
