I'm guessing this place has gone through a few changes for the better since its inception, since it's never popped up on my radar until recently. And, dare I say this is the best Korean I've had in the city? I think I just might! If anything, it's certainly among the top three, especially if we're talking about anything outside the usual KBBQ, soondubu, or bibimbap, with everything I've tried the two times I've come for dinner being pretty darn tasty:
Sweet & Sour Chicken Wings - These might be the best Asian-style wings I've had in SF so far. Certainly in terms of flavor, handily beating out the ones at San Tung (which can be too sweet), the ones at SO (which aren't as flavorful), and countless others that I've had. In terms of texture though, the meat doesn't come off the bone as easily as you'd expect of perfectly cooked wings, like those at Hot Sauce & Panko, but it's not really enough of a deal to complain about.
Jjol Myung - My friend and I actually ordered this thinking it was jjajangmyun (uh, yeah, oops), so we were a little bummed when we got a cold noodle dish instead. But, after actually trying it, we were surprised how good and flavorful the spicy noodles actually were!
Kimchi Fried Rice - I was staring at this the first time I came, and made a point of getting it the second time around. Jin Mi's version was a little different than the ones I've tried before, but I couldn't pinpoint why. The slightly darker color suggested soy sauce, but, either way, it was pretty delicious.
Dukbokki - Another thing I missed the first time around, that I had to come again for. Not outright spicy like that of the KFC, but one that slowly grows on you. Their version comes with a few other things like veggies and fish cake, I think, which all add an extra little flavor.
Service is pretty friendly, and for dinner at least, the place has always been pretty empty - I suspect it's a different case during lunch though, given the selection of tech companies in the area.

Venue - A small restaurant with a mixture of two tops and four tops, some of which are placed a little too close together, so that your back might be right up against someone else's, but given how empty the place has been, this hasn't been an issue yet. There's also a very small grade of a ramp after entering the restaurant, but I'm pretty sure it's far within ADA standards.

Read moreJin Mi is incredible in so many ways. To start off, the food-- you can't get any more legit and delicious than Jin Mi. I highly recommend the pork bulgogi and the beef short ribs. Had them both last night and they were fantastic. Anything you order from this place will be exactly what you'd expect: quality, delicious, authentic Korean food.
But what really sets Jin Mi apart is the service. Paul, the owner, is amazing. Every time I show up with a few of my friends, he comes by and spends time at our table greeting us, teaching us beer+soju drinking tricks, and just being an overall incredible host. His wife, who also works at the restaurant, is also so charming and kind! And the rest of the wait staff are so kind, quick, and genuine!
Jin Mi is top notch, and I would recommend...
Read moreDecent place for lunch. Not the best Korean food but it's good enough to stave off a craving since Korean lunch options are limited in the area.
They get busy during the lunch hour so it can take more than an hour from when you get in to when you get out. Unfortunately the server wouldn't seat our table of 3 because we only had 2 people present but I tried to explain that I was ordering in advance for the 3rd person since he has a limited lunch hour and would come the moment we ordered. So our 3rd person rushed over so we could be seated and we waited 15 mins for the food to come out before he had to quickly eat and leave.
Their tofu soup is flavorful but overly salty and watery. To add a raw egg is an extra $0.50. Seafood pancake was okay. A little mushy and scarce on...
