ice cream and donuts are my favorite desserts (not including macarons) and when i saw this place on instagram i thought i had to go check it out. it was a 40 minute bus ride from my house, and i thought the bus ride wasnât worth it. the store was also pretty hard to find (probably because me and my friend is stupid) iâm not saying itâs bad, itâs just that everything was going not so well for me. it was very cold when i went there, and it wasnât a really good day to pick and go eat ice cream. when i got there, the store was really small so we had to line up outside. it took me awhile to find what i want. i got green tea ice cream with a glazed donut and captain crunch crumbs as the topping (the one in the back of the picture). it wasnât really a good choice, the green tea ice cream was bitter, and i think they added too much green tea powder into their ice cream and iâm not a big fan of that. iâm still giving 5 stars because my friend got a lemon ice cream with rainbow mochi and glazed donut. i was pleasantly surprised of that combination. overall it was...
Read moreI was honestly expecting Milkbomb to be all looks, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the desserts here.
I tried the green tea, ginger, and ube ice cream. The ginger ice cream had chunks of candied ginger - so good!
I doubled up on the ube ice cream by having it in an ube crumble donut. Though I couldn't taste much ube flavor in the crumble, the donut itself was solid and served warm. The downside was that it melted the ice cream fast.
I also tried the fruity cereal waffle cup and loved it maybe more than the ice cream. The waffle cup tasted just like fruity pebbles! It was thicker than most other waffle cones, which I appreciated as well.
The toppings were lots of fun. The green tea sauce was my favorite - it was thick like caramel with strong matcha flavor. The rainbow mochi wasn't as good as other mochi I've had, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Milkbomb definitely fills a void in this style of ice cream shops. Baked Bear is probably the closest, and I thought Milkbomb was better in...
Read moreGreat tasting ice cream! They have a cool concept of ice cream sandwiches where the ice cream is sandwiched between a donut. Unfortunately when I went they only offered ube pandesal as the sandwich option. I went ahead and got that with birthday cake ice cream and black raspberry chip. You can pick up to two flavors for the sandwich. I thought both were good but I especially liked the black raspberry chip. We also got a scoop of banana and lemon custard (not pictured). The banana was good however it tasted a bit artificial like a laffy taffy. The lemon custard was delicious and reminded us of a lemon pound cake. We went on a Saturday evening and parking was full on the street so we had to park around the corner. There was only one person managing the cash register and making the orders so there was a bit of a wait. There were about 3 couples ahead of us and it took maybe close to 15min before we got to place our order. I would like to come back and try their ice cream in a...
