Food was good, service was slow but very apologetic. Unfortunately, they only had one person working the kitchen and a huge party to attend to inside. I will come back to this place eventually because the food was good tasting (not over the moon, but definitely worth another trip) and decently priced for the city. They had some happy hour specials for a Tuesday which brought oysters to $2 or $3 per oyster depending on which ones you wanted. They were out of Kumamotos when our group had arrived, very sad times as those are my favorite! Fanny Bay and Kumai were good alternative (though will never compare). Service was friendly but you can tell they were slammed and didn't expect to be so low staffed so I will not fault them at all on the mismanagement because the staff did everything they could to provide good and friendly service. I hope my next visit will be a much...

Went for the weekend all day happy hour - $2/oyster. There were five oysters choice, tried one each before deciding to go for 2nd round of oysters with our preferred choices.

Glad that the oysters were of decent size and fleshy. Had bad experiences at other oysters bar where they offered tiny oysters for happy hour! So this was good.

Ordered their French fries to accompany our oysters. They were yummy, though a rather small portion.

The decor is simple and non-pretentious. It's quite easy to miss them too if you weren't specifically looking out for it.

Forgot to place a reservation, thankfully we were early and manage to get a spot immediately. Many tables around appears to be reserved. Best to make your reservation before popping by!

Service was friendly and good. Overall, we had a good experience. Will be back when the oyster...

Visited Mission Street Oyster Bar on a Thursday evening. I was the only customer during dinner service, which was concerning.

Positives: Excellent service - server was patient and attentive Happy hour oyster and sangria prices appear reasonable

Negatives: Ordered Hawaiian Ahi Tuna ($26.95) - very basic preparation with seared tuna, broiled vegetables, and potato puree Quality doesn't justify the high dinner pricing 4% surcharge for credit card payments

The food was adequate but nothing special, especially considering the premium price point. For nearly $27 plus credit card fees which ended up almost $30, I expected more creativity and quality in preparation. While the service was genuinely good, the value proposition for dinner is poor. The empty restaurant during dinner hours may indicate others have reached similar...

Whenever I visit San Francisco, I'm filled with anticipation to devour some delectable oysters. Among the many varieties from Washington and British Columbia, the kumomotos oysters truly stand out. The local Miyagi oysters, on the other hand, are somewhat average. However, I absolutely love the black mussels since they make up for not having the green lip variety, and they taste fantastic too. The sauce accompanying the seafood is exceptionally flavorful, especially when dipped with bread. We relished every last drop of the broth. The calamari prepared in the Peruvian style provided a unique twist, although the slightly sour taste wasn't quite to my preference. All in all, it was a wonderful lunch experience!

Many decades ago, I enjoyed some wonderful meals at the Italian seafood restaurants at Fisherman‘s wharf. It’s a different city now, and I can’t remember the last time I went to a restaurant on that side of town. But I can re-create that last century experience every time I sit down at Mission Street oyster bar. we have to order the scallops every time we see it on the menu, because they’re fabulous and just melt in your mouth. The portions are generous, and of course they have the classic sourdough bread that you have to indulge in for the complete SF seafood restaurant experience. Highly recommend it! Jan - 2022 update The scallops are perfect
