I recently had the pleasure of dining at Poesia in San Francisco, CA, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the evening.
Let's start with the food – it was absolutely excellent! Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece of flavors and presentation. Poesia takes great pride in their culinary creations, and it truly shows in every bite. The quality of the ingredients was top-notch, and it's evident that the chefs here are passionate about their craft. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, each dish was a delightful journey for the taste buds.
The service was equally outstanding. Our lady waitress was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also incredibly personable. She made excellent recommendations, catered to our dietary preferences, and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor added a special touch to the evening.
What truly stood out was the brief visit from the owner, who took the time to check on us and our food. It's evident that the team at Poesia is dedicated to ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and appreciated. The owner's presence was a testament to their commitment to providing top-notch service and making sure every aspect of our dining experience was perfect.
Now, I must admit that the prices at Poesia are on the higher side, but I can wholeheartedly say that the quality of the food and the level of service more than justified the cost. It's not just a meal; it's a culinary journey that is worth every penny.
In conclusion, Poesia in San Francisco, CA, is a hidden gem that deserves all the accolades it receives. From the outstanding food to the impeccable service and the personal touch of the owner, dining here is an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a truly special and memorable dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Poesia. It's a place where every detail is thoughtfully crafted to ensure your satisfaction, and it's a true testament to the culinary artistry of...
Read moreWas recommended by my Italian coworker so I had high expectations of this place but unfortunately those were not met.
My partner reserved ahead of time for our anniversary and specified that we requested patio seating. Upon arrival they brought us to indoor seating, but thankfully they were willing to move us to the patio.
We were given happy hour menu but when we were ready to order the waiter did not come until 3 minutes before HH ended. We wanted to get house wines based on HH menu and then the waiter asked red or white. We mentioned white and asked for his recommendation. We ordered based on his recommendation thinking those were included in HH as we specifically said we wanted house wines. Yet when the check came, our wines were not included as HH price. When we asked about this, another waiter who served us said that there was only one type of house wine and the wines we ordered were not part of HH. We were so annoyed because the first waiter who took our order didn’t clarify this although we had mentioned that we wanted house wines. Due to this reason, we had to give lower tip than SF standard
Now for the food, we ordered:
My roommate had been eyeing this restaurant for a long time. We were in the area, and decided to check out the menu. We had eaten earlier, and weren't hungry. We just wanted to see what Poesia had to offer. Little did we know we barely made it for happy hour. The host was so welcoming, so we decided to stay.
We ordered the "rustico" and the "pappa al pomodoro." The rustico is a puff pastry filled with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese. The pappa al pomodoro is tomato bread soup. The puff pastry was a bit burnt, but so delicious! It was especially good with the soup. I would order the soup again because the tomatoes were bursting with flavor and the bread went well with the overall texture of the soup.
We also ordered drinks. I got the Juliet of the Spirits that had vodka, St. Germain, lavender syrup, and tiny pieces of lavender on top. My roommate ordered La Dolce Vita which had bourbon (her favorite), Di Saronno, and citrus juice. Mine was so aromatic and sweet. I can't say much about hers. I did try it, but I'm not a bourbon fan. I will say that she really enjoyed hers.
The bartender who served us was really friendly. And the host checked in on us, and again, so welcoming.
The decor is really romantic, especially with the black and white movies playing against the back wall. I felt like I was back in Italy again with the good food, friendly staff, and...
