Around 1pm only 1/4 occupancy. After I sat down and placed my order I walked to the counter at the back to add a soup. This waitress gave the rudest impatient face told me to "Just sit down!!" I asked why did she talk to me this way I was trying to help them by going to her myself.
Her reason was "First come first serve" I politely asked her to talk politely, she maintained an attitude like she hates her job. I expresses I'd cancel the order and walk out, she showed me the door with her busy palm.
My approach to her maintain approachable and respectful throughout the experience.
She might have had a bad day but it's inexcusable to throw tantrum to customers. That easy to get triggered and upset? Doesn't strike me as a very green waitress either.
Clearly she lacks efficacy & etiquette even in a non-stress work load. Doesn't matter how long she's been there. Her glimpse of sudden abnormal emtional that cause her to behave this way to customers, shows a borderline potential threat to my lunch experience. I opted out.
Or the owner pls hire more staff to help her out. Smarter to hire consistently graceful people.
I went to Thailand many times it's known for it's hospitality. This experience put its...
Read moreJean, the owner, and my husband go way back - before they were at the Church location so it's not surprising that when we come to her restaurant, she immediately takes care of us like one of her own. Regent Thai is a great place to be and in our opinions, the move from Monterey Blvd to Church was a very good choice as it allow for better spacing although parking still sucks...
We always get their double cook roast duck and their coconut chicken soup. And thanks to Jean, I learned quickly how to copy the recipe and many others (not the duck though as it's tedious work). We recently came here after the arrival of our daughter's birth and as always, everyone in the staff embraced her and immediately went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and able to eat (one even helped us with prepping her formula and offered to help feed her so we can have some "quiet time"). That's what I call awesome service! Always friendly and helpful, Regent Thai is your neighborhood family friendly...
Read moreWhat a refreshing experience, I was craving for some good Thai cooking , the weather was rather cold and gloomy. As I entered Regent Thai. I was greeted with this so unique, only in Thailand smile. Within minutes I felt transformed from a person that is bombarded with negativity from around the globe and especially on local shores to an individual that sensed humanity still exists. If you read this and have been to Thailand before then you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, pack your bags and give it a try. And for the food you might ask, right on target, simple but distinct with its flavors and textures. Red duck curry was lovely and the Tum Yum salad reminded me of having lunch at a street corner in BKK. Love it Thank you chef and staff for holding onto your traditions and transforming your guest for the short period of time to a...
