First off let me say I have been here a few times before and have enjoyed the experience and the food, that is why I have been back. The lady who owns the establishment is usually very friendly and always checking in to see how we are doing and if everything is ok.
Unfortunately today, we did not have the same experience-…… (Perhaps she remembered me from the last time I came with a group of people and one of the people misread the menu pricing and I guess there was some confusion with them that she did not care for? However, that had nothing to do with me- we all had separate bills and I was pleasantly as I have always been in their establishment and yes I am a “tipper”)…. So back to today, she did not acknowledge us for the first 45 minutes, acted as if she did not see me politely trying to grab her attention at one point and when she finally did “check in” we were pretty much done with our plates- maybe this was damage control? The food was not bad but one of my cods was a bit tough and I couldn’t cut it with my fork had to tear it with my fingers plus the potatoes were a bit on the dry side- I had to ask for butter which was a first… I left the table briefly to go to the restroom and when I came back the bill was on the table… it would have been polite to wait until I came back- so that was odd as well… I could be wrong but I think the gentleman who waited our table was related ? Btw, he was awesome and he deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for his service and his humor, my daughter loved him and he made us laugh.
I took stars off for the painfully obvious unfriendliness, avoiding, waiting until I left the table to leave my tab and for one of my cods being unusually chewy and the potato’s drier than usual…tbh I picked up on the vibes almost immediately and was just going to leave and go elsewhere. I really liked this little gem but not sure if I feel comfortable...
Read moreWho has the best dinner at our table? It's hard to say, everything was so good! We ordered the dungeness crab, scallops carbonara, linguine with clams, clam chowder, and oysters on the half shell. We wished we could have offered more, it was hard to choose. The pasta dishes had perfectly cooked pasta, we are snobby about pasta! The linguine with clams was delicious. There were lemon slices mixed in making the taste bright. The crabs were big! We really wanted to get more oysters because they were so fresh and plump, very nice taste to them. But the best thing on the table may have been the chowder! It was absolutely fantastic. It's a small place, and seems popular, lots of people coming and going and just saying hi. Seems like several regulars were here. Loved coming, well come back next time...
Read moreWe drove 30 min across SF just to eat here and it will forever become our “go-to” spot for exquisite food! We ordered one clam chowder bowl, and one clam chowder bake, their daily special: pistachio crusted, tilapia with broccolini and wilted spinach salad on the bed of fingerling potatoes, and a clam and shrimp boil with spicy sausage, potatoes, corn. The boil has a selection of several flavors and spice levels to your preference. Everything was exceptionally delicious! We were all very very impressed. The owner, Ramsey, was very friendly and welcoming. It almost felt as if we were meeting an old friend rather than visiting a restaurant for the first time.
This place is definitely a 10 out of 10, highly recommend for anyone who is looking for fresh and...
