
I visited Bernal Heights over the weekend and absolutely loved it! The neighborhood has a relaxed, welcoming vibe and feels like a peaceful escape within the city. The real highlight was Bernal Heights Park — the views from the top are incredible, offering a panoramic look at San Francisco and from downtown to the Bay.
The walk up was steep but totally worth it. There were lots of friendly locals out walking dogs, jogging, or just enjoying the sunshine. Right now wild blackberries are on the vines, and they are so sweet. Benches and railings provide a welcome place to catch your breath, as some trails are quite steep. Walk the paved road for an easier ascent, which is not open to traffic. Find it at the top of Folsom Street and turn right. The road to the left is for autos.
