Food - Great selection of cakes which drew me here! Some good options for cold sandwiches and they also do some hot bagels. Good coffee too served either hot or cold. Food and drinks are served in takeaway cups/bags, plates are offered for sandwiches etc.
Accessibility - Doors are propped opened for easy access, no steps (everything is on ground floor), standard restrooms (not accessible friendly), sitting areas are quite cram so wheelchair users will need to take seats along the walking area.
Ambiance - Light and easy; big windows letting in loads of natural light (great for people watching too), casual and relaxed atmosphere. Clean and tidy. Some nice homely decor. Warm and inviting :-)
Cost - Roughly between $2.50 and $4.50 for coffee (type and size dependent), cakes are the same too. Pretty good value for money.
Tips - No table service, so just head straight to the counter and order your food/drinks. Have a nosy around though as there are cakes before and after the order point so I missed seeing some options. Free Wi-Fi available. And good speed.
Service - Quick and fast. Staff are friendly...
Read morelove love love the baked goodies at this place. they have such a wide selection and each one is delicious. don't get me wrong, this isn't the bougie stuff you'll find at tartine or a million other gentrified bakeries in sf but it's homecooked goodness wrapped in that plastic wrap that tells you it's about to be buss. came for a quick sugar fix after a chilling disappointment at united dumplings and got exactly what we came for. i had the chocolate dipped macaroon and mm mm mm they may have spelled macaroon wrong on the label but it does. not. matter. my friends they clearly knew what was going on with this thing. friend had the brownie which was equally delicious and a macchiato that made us feel european for having caffeine after 4 pm. interior is very cute and a great place to read, study, or just hang out. even though we came a few minutes before close they let us stay and finish our food which is my biggest pet peeve as a serviceworker so props to them for being...
Read moreMartha & Brothers (just Martha’s if you’re local :) is one of the best coffee shops in San Francisco. The coffee and espresso is a rich, dark roast blend. We always get Americanos with hot milk and they are really perfection - of course there are mochas and chais and all kinds of specialty drinks but it all starts with the beans. Moreover all the staff are incredibly friendly (where else are you greeted with “hello, love”). The baristas are pro but humble — David is great and remembers your drink, and Giselle gets special mention for her strong Americanos. There is seating indoors and outside on a few tables. Big windows make it a refuge from the daily hustle, comfy place to meet a friend or to bang out a few emails while high on caffeine. There really is a Martha, she’s the owner and a local legend. If you get your coffee early enough you just might meet her and her...
