We came to eat with my family on 02/16/25 around 9pm. The waitress/cashier is not a good person. From the moment we came in and tried to order something, she gave us a disgust face. After we sat down, the tables were dirty and I went to ask some employees to clean it but there was no urgency for it. Later while waiting for our food, the “waitress” brought our food out and gave it to us all wrong. She acted like she knew what they were and gave us the wrong plates to the wrong people. We had to fix it between us. We ordered some drinks as well, for some reason the Horchata did not taste well. After a couple of sips, not even 3-5% of the whole cup, we asked her if we can just switch it for a different drink, one that tasted better based on one of our family members choice and she literally ignored my request and then after calling her several times she said, you actually already tasted it so I can’t exchange it. Like cmon, how can we know how it tastes before TASTING it! We are expecting good food and drinks, if it’s bad how is that our fault?! Well I ended up asking one of the cooks because she just ended up ignoring us and he gladly helped us! THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE! Because I didn’t want to just write this review because she made us feel not even worthy of her customer service, I decided to watch her throughout our dinner and I was correct, a lot of people kept nodding their heads and people were not happy with her attitude! Overall it’s tough man, being overpriced for what it is, it’s tough if we would ever come back! It’s sad, I used to come here all the time back in the day, it has definitely changed. Seems more money hungry than actually them actually caring about the customer or even the...
Read moreHubs and I were on our weekly mission to dine out in SF. We wanted something quick and 'affordable'. We both had tacos. Based on reviews I had read I was gunning for 5 tacos. Thank goodness the fella setting up the tacos misheard me and gave me 4 tacos... or maybe he did hear me and thought I was over-ordering... at any rate 4 was more than enough for me and I am a good eater.
I had: Pollo Asado Carne Asada (2) Al Pastor
Hubs had: Pollo Asado Carne Asada Chorizo
We both agreed hands down Pollo Asado was the best. I found this shocking, I don't usually order chicken at taquerias because I try to choose something I wouldn't make at home (we make a lot of chicken at home). Normally, Al Pastor or Carnitas are my go to. I wouldn't order the Carne Asada, Chorizo or the Al Pastor again. But I would definitely get Pollo Asado and try some other choices.
Cantaloupe Aqua Fresca was amazing (we took 3 to go), Hibiscus Aqua Fresca was good but too sweet for me to order again.
It's a cute (not cozy) interior with lots of murals to look at. Lots of tiled tables with benches.
Next time, I'm getting corn with mayo and queso and a bunch of tacos....
Read moreThis is the most overrated taco spot in the city and maybe even the whole Bay Area. I know all places have roaches, but this is one of the only places I've actually seen roaches on the tables where you eat, and at the topping bar. And then when we pointed it out to the workers, they just shrugged it off.
Okay forget the roaches, everywhere has them. Even before that last time I went there, the food has always been mediocre. Usually taquerias usually have at least one meat or plate that they make the best or better than others. This place has none! It's all mediocre. The service is lousy, this place gets packed, and they don't keep the topping bar clean. It gets messy from all the people using it and they don't clean it and are slow to refill it. Again, this is the most overrated taco spot in the city. And not just on the internet, locals and natives love it too. I'd say the 2 things it has going for it: meat variety for tacos and late night hours. Also the food isn't that bad. It's better than some of the white washed Mexican restaurants...
