perhaps the breakfast options are the shining stars because we opted for lunched coming around 1:30pm on a sat. and it was kinda blah and kinda pricey and small for said blah.

overwhelmed with options, we thought we would consult mogl to get a bit of cash back on a choice. this place offers a pretty good deal on there, and was highly rated, so it seemed like a great choice. the place is a total hole in the wall. tiny. we came just before a rush that filled the entire establishment and were seating in the very back, next to where they press oranges for juice (slightly annoying to sit and listen to, but whatever).

both got some cheeksteaks - yes, a bold move as typically places fail with this if they aren't known for them. and did it? well, they were fine, but on the expensive side and fairly small. i think my first half was favored over the second, which i thought the quality of meat was kinda bad in flavor. how can this be? im guessing because after the 1st half i was no longer starving and finding anything delicious.

the one thing i will give this place: they are damn efficient. our food came out so quickly. our check and charge was also quick. they obviously want the high turnover. so it is good for a quick bite...just not a cheap or overly...

The first thing I would like to point out is that the low pricing sign on this place is a bit deceiving. I went here one morning to get a normal plate with an addition of their "millionaire" bacon and it easily became a $20 meal with tip. Now was the money worth it? Sort of... I had their thin Swedish pancakes and I did truly like them. Had they been normal sized diner pancakes, I probably would've needed to be rolled out of there.

Now as for their "millionaire" bacon, they were special. If you love bacon, and let's face it, nowadays everyone's a fan, you would certainly have to order this when you come by. These 2 thick slabs of meaty goodness are slightly candied and spiced with just a slight heat from cayenne to make you wish you had more than just the 2 strips. They are perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper as well so your taste buds can appreciate the journey of flavors with every bite. My wife and I had a fantastic breakfast at Taylor Street Café, and it’s safe to say we’ll be coming back. This cozy spot had a welcoming atmosphere and friendly service that made for a great start to our day.

My wife ordered the Greek Omelet, which was packed with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. The combination of feta cheese, spinach, mushrooms and olives was just right—not too heavy, but still satisfying. She loved every bite.

I went with a classic two eggs with bacon and hashbrowns, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. The eggs were cooked just as I ordered, the bacon was crispy, and the hashbrowns had that perfect golden crunch on the outside while staying soft inside.
