My 2 friends and I stayed here for our first visit to San Francisco and as we are travelling on our budget, this seemed the most affordable option and we liked the location and that breakfast was included in the price so that we didn’t have to worry about paying for breakfast elsewhere. |Staff were friendly enough, however on the first night they failed to mention that there was a restaurant that turns into some sort of club and there was loud thumping music until 2am. We called reception thinking it was maybe a guest as we could feel the vibrations in our room and they explained that they’ll ask them how long they’ll be, this made us confused as why weren’t we informed about this beforehand seeing as they know this happens. The next day, we asked reception and they confirmed that there is a restaurant that has belly dancing until about 2am most nights, we managed to sleep around 2.30 am. This did only happen on the first night. |The rooms are small, there is no space to place luggage or bags, especially if you have more than 2 people. However, the rooms are nice and modern and the bathroom is lovely, but be aware that the shower does take at least 5 minutes to warm up. Toiletries such as body wash, shampoo and conditioner are provided.|The area that the hotel is situated is The Tenderloin, which is deemed to be the worse area of San Francisco. We were never bothered by anyone in our 3 nights there nor did we hear anything at night. Definitely do your research about the area beforehand and stay vigilant nonetheless. |Breakfast was basic but what we needed to start the day.|The hotel was decent enough and we would stay here again if we needed somewhere to stay at an...
Read moreRevised review after staying at this hotel again during a recent trip to San Francisco. My review from my first stay is below my review for this stay.
The hotel is still clean and room comfortable, the problem is with the staff that works there. There were two (2) people in my party, however I arrived about 4 hours before my friend who arrived shortly after midnight. I received a call from my friend about 12:20am, and learned the staff would not allow my friend into the building. I obviously thought there must be some mistake, so I rushed right down to the lobby and inquired, the front desk gentleman said we dont allow anyone to come or go after midnight. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, so I said, I'll just go and let them in, he said if you do that then neither of you will be staying here. I went back upstairs and called my friend, toId her she'd have to find someplace else to stay, which she did, but at a much higher room rate. I checked out the next morning and lost the payment amount for the second night. Then to top off the horrible, unbelievable experience they kept my security deposit, said i smoked in the room. I have never smoked anything, at any time of my life, and that room was not smoked in. My suggestion to you is do not stay here, period.
My first review: I was so surprised and impressed with this Hotel. The room is on the smaller side, but it was clean, and nice. Prices very fair, I was even surprised how cheap the room rate was. It in a bad neighborhood, homeless...
Read moreStayed here for a quick 2 night stay. Was a little worried when we pulled up and realized we were in the Tenderloin district. I had only heard horrible things about the area. But during the day, district was fine. Wouldn't risk walking around at night.
Hotel staff was very nice. Accommodated us with an early check in and valet parking ($30 a day with in and out privileges). Elevator was a little rickety but got used to it. Finding room was kind of like a maze, but made it fun :-)
Room was clean but small. Bathroom was nice size. Took awhile for the hot water to come in. But once it did, made for a nice shower. Even being in such a busy area, I expected to hear the downtown noise, but the hotel was quiet and so was the noise from outside. Didn't hear a peep. Bed was comfortable.
Overall glad we stayed here, just wish I would have been in a better part of town. There is 2 Starbucks within...
