I had a horrible experience dealing with A.C.T. I had a front row ticket to "A Strange Loop". Directions from Google Maps send you to the ACT's other theater on Market Street, this one's on Geary, both are named Toni Rembe. The box office opens 30 minutes prior to the show. When I ,managed to track someone down at the Market St theater, they directed me to the Geary theater. I'm disabled due to a spinal injury and don't travel fast. They told me they would radio ahead and that the show started at 2:05. I arrived at the second theater at 2:05. The staff scanned my ticket, then refused to seat me in the seat I purchased. I was in so much pain after rushing to get to the second theater and the staff was so rude (I had one usher turn away from me while I was talking to her to look at her phone) that I called it a day, ate the ticket price and went home. In 2006, the theater (at that time named the Geary Theater) was renamed, by mayoral proclamation, to have the same name as the company: the American Conservatory Theatre. Then in 2022, the company announced it was changing the name of the Geary Theater (huh?) to the Toni Rembe Theater.
