As much as I want to keep this place a secret, as a new restaurant/bakery they need all the recognition they can get!!
for some context, I moved here from NJ over 7 years ago, and while I already gave up my search for an east coast bagel in the Bay Area years ago after countless disappointing trials, I stumbled upon the Laundromat on an early morning walk and all my expectations, childhood memories, and love for bagels were revived and rewoken, and I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning ordering Everything bagels and Scallion cream cheese, and that first bite had me gasping for more.
The ambiance, the outer richmond energy, the ownership+staff (also coming from the east coast) and the authenticity gives this place a 10/10. I’d give more if I could.
As for the dinner and pizza, the evening energy, ambiance, service, and even wait times were all perfect (for a wednesday night). Simple menu of local and european drinks, salads, and pizza. Really all you need!! the Pizza resembles that of a sicilian/grandma slice of the East coast, and was perfectly balanced being fluffy, crispy, and well-flavored. The marina was delicious and the flavors of the white mushroom pizza exploded. The music, film in the background, art and space is perfect for any occasion.
Overall I’m so happy with this new gem in the outer Richmond, and this brand new addition to the local community here. Kudos to the owners and staff who also gave such a welcoming and humbling experience, who also seem to care much about the local richmond and genuine interaction. I Look forward to coming...
Read moreWould give 6 stars if I could! Amazing food and the sweetest restaurant staff I've ever met.
The wait was about an hour long when we arrived at 7:30pm on Friday night so we decided to just order food to go and maybe eat in golden gate park. We got two pizzas and two olive oil cakes for four people. We got the bartender's choice wine shots while waiting for the food to come.
Some bar seating opened up while we were waiting for the food so we hung out there and then the staff let us eat our pizzas there also. They also gave us plates, utensils, and water even though we initially wanted to do take out. We were also later accommodated at an outside table. I feel like so many popular SF places would not have been this nice during their busy hours.
Okay onto the food - the ricotta sausage pizza was absolutely amazing and I would get it again! The pepperoni one is a classic and also great but the ricotta one stole the show. This was decently filling for the four of us. The olive oil cake was also amazing, and came with a side of ricotta cream which we polished off.
We also got some of their bagels to-go, can't wait to try tomorrow morning!
Edit: came back for the bagels and they were amazing, better than the average NYC bagel even. I got there a bit before 12 and the pumpernickel bagel and better cream cheese flavours already sold out so I’d recommend...
Read moreAs residents of the Richmond, we had heard rave reviews about the pizza and bagels at the Laundromat, and finally tried their pizza this past weekend.
Ordering take out, we got the mushroom combo pizza, the sausage and peppers pizza, and the broccoli pizza.
The pizzas looked beautiful and tasted amazing as well!
Starting with the Broccoli pizza, this was actually our least favorite of the night. We really liked the shaved fennel and Calabrian chili sauce, but found the broccoli raspberry to be slightly overpowering with bitterness. The pizza was still tasty, but the bitterness of the broccoli rabe didn't go with the Calabrian chili sauce and other ingredients as well as we were expecting.
That said, the mushroom combo and sausage and peppers pizzas were fantastic. The mushroom combo pizza was super rich with the white sauce and fontina cheese, which paired beautifully with the earthiness of the mushrooms. Given how saucy the other two pizzas were, it was also nice that the mushroom combo pizza was not so saucy (although it had plenty of sauce and did not taste dry at all).
The sausage and peppers pizza was definitely our favorite of the night, with the spiciness from the fennel sausage/jimmy nardello pepper cream pairing beautifully with the pearl peppers.
We will definitely be back again to try the pepperoni...
