I live in the neighborhood and have been to this place a couple times- in spite of of myself. I must be insane, thinking that each time, it has to be better than the last, right?! Oh how wrong I am. The first time I had some sort of tea cake, and it tasted no better than something you might find at 7/11. The second time, I wanted to get a juice or lemonade, and the people can’t se to be bothered to take my order. The 3rd time, I got a mocha and the coffee was so sweet, it tasted like chocolate flavored coffee. (My husband got a latte between my 2nd and 3rd visit and it tasted awful as well.) I've had just about everything and it's a tie between the Thinker's Club (lots of bacony tangy goodness) and the Potrero Sandwich (very fresh with a good crunch). The mochas are also excellent. A good amount of sweet balanced by a bit of earthy bitterness. Not to mention the pastries are delicious. I'd recommend the chocolate croissant for a dense, weighty hit of sweetness!
