Third Wheel Coffee — Restaurant in San Francisco

Oh my word! You can taste the love and intention in every sip of your latte, it was so heavenly I had to go back three days in a row during my visit to the city. Coming from someone who has been a craft coffee barista for seven years, this cafe is certainly in my top three holy grails. Not to mention the fantastic owner Tom, who I had the pleasure of speaking with. The owners are truly an inspiration, having started their cafe journey at the age of 20. It truly takes passion and dedication to the art of coffee to be successful not only in cultivating such a fantastic cafe, but in touching the hearts of so many people that pass through. Last week I got coffee at a different (fancy) coffee shop and as I walk up all 3 employees are standing there glued to their phones uninterested in the world around them. Fast forward to today, complete opposite experience. Third wheel are the rare unicorns where you can get an amazing coffee or espresso drink by truly wonderful, kind, interesting and warm human beings. They take their coffee very seriously, but also are enjoyable to be around. I don’t know of any other coffee shop in the city where you can find this combination. Coffee bar that shares the same space as a sandwich shop. Stopped by here for brunch with my boyfriend and it was a delicious spot. They had matcha and coffee options (in addition to affogato). Both our lattes were incredibly smooth and tasty. We grabbed a chocolate mochi muffin as well as a ham and cheese croissant. There wasn’t any seating so we went to the park nearby to eat on the grass. You pay first before receiving your order on the right hand side of the counter.
