S F Hardware — Local services in San Francisco

I bought a clear silicone from another store, thinking that it should look clear when being applied. When it came out white, it thought the silicone may have been incorrectly labelled..

So I went into SF Hardware looking for a clear silicone. The lady staff took me to the silicone section and got me a clear one. When I explained the situation to her, she said that the clear one looks white when being applied and it will become clear why dried up.

Apparently, it saved me a few dollars for not having to buy another one. But more importantly, it is her act of professionalism and truthfulness...

Worst neighborhood hardware store. Woke up to a horrible ant infestation in my apartment, and knowing they sell ant traps, I asked permission to go into work late to wait for the store to open at 9am. It is now 9:30am and I have been standing outside the hardware store for 20min yet no one is here and it shows no signs of opening anytime soon. They don’t have a working phone and are otherwise rude and unhelpful people. I wish there were a closer store or this one...

Just called to ask if they had materials to replace drip irrigation, the guy impatiently asked "well, what size?" I said "I'm not sure, I think it's the smallest size. But so you have them? I can just look." He then super rudely said, "Some. But I can't help you if you don't tell me what size."

So I'll be going to Cole Hardware where I know they'll be helpful, even though it's significantly...
