Friday 5/31/24 Dinner at King Com Tam in San Gabriel. Craving for meats in broken rice. Ordered the grilled chicken, nem, shredded pork skins, and steam eggs. It’s delicious and hit the spot.

Friday 12/15/23 Dinner at King Com Tam in San Gabriel with my friend-colleague Erwin. Introducing him to eating Vietnamese green leaf wraps with 10+ different meats. Is so savory, light, and refreshing. It so delicious without the bloating from eating too of meats and carbohydrates and even have rooms to have a large durian smoothie at Lee’s sandwich.
I recommend trying this restaurant for their green leaf wraps. ————— This is one of my favorite restaurants for Vietnamese broken rice with grilled meats. The foods are so delicious and reasonably priced. There are many dishes on the menu where I can come numerous times and still haven’t try everything on the menu. The service staffs work fast and are limited in English. The restaurant has remodeled a few years ago and now has a more modern decors and good air conditioning system. I still return to satisfied my cravings. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Read moreAfter hearing from our neighbor about how good the foods are from this place, we finally decided to try them out today for take out order.
Being first time ordering here, I was a bit timid on what to order. We looked at their online menu and found that they do offer very comprehensive Vietnamese foods. Being a foodie for Vietnamese foods, I wanted to order quite a few things. But my wife told me to focus on one dish only to avoid over eating at lunch.
I ordered their broken rice with BBQ pork and shrimp skin. The taste of this dish is very authentic and yummy. The only complaint I have is that the pork was not well BBQ. I like my pork to be a bit burned to have that authenticity.
My wife got a Bun with chicken and shrimp skin. The chicken was well BBQed. I tried a bit and felt this dish is fabulous and was right on the spot with the flavor.
We also ordered extra egg rolls. This restaurant is one the only few restaurants in San Gabriel Valley doing egg rolls with rice paper. Believe me, egg rolls with rice papers do taste different. They are extra crunchy and chewy. That’s how they do egg rolls back in Vietnam.
We also got an ice coffee with milk and an cold red bean drink. These two drinks are very popular in Vietnam. When we were in Vietnam before the pandemic, we got an ice coffee every morning from the shop across our hotel.
Will be back to try out more of...
Read moreCơm tấm Thuận Kiều is very low key restaurant located on Valley Blvd. They are the most popular Vietnam restaurant in SGV. They have 226 food dishes on menu divided according to categories: Broken rice, Egg/Rice Noodles, Pho, etc. I had #49 Broken rice w/ Korean Beef and ice tea w/ caramel milk. Moreover, it came with free steamed egg and chicken broth soup. Food portion is quite large. The meat texture is soft, tender and flavorful; easy to tear the meat from its bones. Similarly, the rice is warm and light. Service was really fast. Interior decor is very simple but well lit, spaciously organized and clean. Parking is available in the supermarket next door. Prices are relatively cheap. 💰Cash Only! You will receive a tag receipt and you'll bring it on the counter and you pay. Staff are competent and professional. I noticed majority of their staff are old folks which makes me think it could be family owned restaurant. Overall, it's a good Vietnamese restaurant to grab a quick Lunch/Dinner at a very...
