I'm torn.
This place falls under the, "it's super close and I can walk there" and they have good tacos, but that's just it, they're good, not great, not amazing.
We came here last week and we're pleasantly surprised at how clean it was. Driving by, we knew they had outdoor tables, so that was a major plus as well. The menu is a standard Mexican taqueria affair with some oddities the main one being that they charge extra for carne asada... I understand that prices are in the rise but just surprising they charged more.
The tacos were good. We got cabeza, asada, lengua and pastor. The cabeza was very flavorful and tender. The kids demolished them while they waited for their quesadilla. The pastor was very.. dry. They had the vertical rotisserie but they precut the meat and it was sitting there. The flavor was good but dry. Ultimately, the tacos bring 2.50 made it worth it. The asada was good flavor wise but also dry. The lengua was also good, but nothing stood out about it. They unfortunate part was they say the lengua and asada are extra but don't say how much more. Overall, the tacos were a 3 start affair.
The reason I gave it 3 stars was the quesadilla. It's our safe bet for the kids. I always envision a nice tortilla with a generous helping if cheese and (if you order it) meat. Something big enough that it should feed two small children. This was not that. It's was small and had a decent amount of veggies in it (lots of onion and bell pepper) almost not cheese and very little meat as well. There was avocado which was nice but it looked more like a single fajita than a quesadilla.
The meats were good but the tortillas were very dry. Not sure if they're going for healthy but it's not the fatty, chewy tortillas I'm craving. They were hand made there which was nice, just wish it had a better consistency.
In the end we will almost for sure go back because of the convenience but we will skip the...

I was craving authentic Mexican food and came across Araujo's Mexican Grill on Berryessa Rd. Their signature dish, the Molcajetes Mixtos, is a feast of mixed meats, cheese, and a quesadilla, served in a massive stone bowl that keeps everything hot from start to finish. It comes with chips and tortillas, so you can build your own tacos—I made one with everything, and it was incredible! The portion is huge, easily enough to feed three to four people. I also tried the Carne Asada fries, and what stood out was the curly fries, which kept the toppings elevated and crispy. The serving size was perfect for satisfying late-night cravings, and they were generous with the avocado and sour cream. Pro tip: Order the fries extra crispy to keep them from getting soggy under all the toppings. The salsa bar has everything you need to customize your meal, but beware of one of the orange sauces—it seems mild at first, but the heat kicks in after a couple of seconds! They also serve fresh Mango, Horchata, and Strawberry Agua Fresca daily, which pairs perfectly with the meal. To finish, the flan was rich, creamy, and not overly sweet—a perfect way to end the feast. Plus, their big-screen TV makes it a great spot to catch a football or soccer game...
Read moreFirst off it pains me to write this review as Araujos is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in town (the 2 other locations) as for this location, I have been to this location a number of time as I live at the platform so convenient and just hoping it’s gonna be different this time thinking.
But this location is by far the worst. The staff don’t seem to thrilled about working and have very poor social customer service skills. And upon entering it looks like it’s a difficult task to assist somebody at the register.
I continue to order the exact same thing as I know what I like to eat and all but 1x my order has been incorrectly made. I simple ask for no onions or cilantro and to please add rice and just about every time it’s wrong and I’m left upset and still hungry. I don’t wanna be that customer to return to the restaurant and complain they made my food wrong so I just discard the food and choose elsewhere to eat. I don’t know what is so complicated about making a burrito but this staff can’t seem to get it right.
From now on I’ll just visit one of the other locations if I’m feeling like Mexican food or try to find another good spot near my place.
Managements and owner PLEASE get this location up to the Araujos standard that we all...
