Nagoya Sushi — Restaurant in San Jose

Stopped in this cozy corner sushi restaurant for a quick lunch with my family as it close by. We were seated quickly and I got a good vibe from the place. They have a nice lunch special where you can select an item from column A and one from B to mix-and-match something you like for a good price.

Between the 3 of us we were able to sample the beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, shrimp tempura, california roll, hamachi roll, and maguro roll. The combos came with soup, salad, and rice and all the portions were generous.

I can't say the food was exceptional but it wasn't bad either. The fish was fresh but the sushi rice left a little bit to be desired. Both types of teriyaki and the tempura were ok and my favorite was the miso soup.

I read the reviews and had to stop to see what the excitement was.The resteraunt is very small with about 8 tables.we were doing take out and we were told our 2 rolls would be ready in 5 minutes. Sure enough 5 minutes and we were out the door heading home.i ordered a calif roll and my wife ordered a shrimp tempura roll. My wife loves sushi and I tolerate it. Everytime we visit other restaurants I get disappointed cause the crab used is imitation. Here at Nagoya Sushi they had real crab. Small hole in the wall that looks much bigger on the outside. The inside has cozy and intimate seatings. Only two person manning the front and back kitchen. The food and service was great, we came for lunch and only had two other tables with us and the wait wasn't long. Food was ok, like any other sushi place.
