The store is over priced and out of date. Not at inviting. I have been to the store a couple times and called as well, only once was there a person that really seemed happy to see me and very helpful. I recently called to inquire about an item and instead of saying "I'm sorry you're breaking up, or I'm sorry I can't quite hear you. It was a snappy "I can't even understand you" I repeated myself very slowly all while thinking, How rude, I am speaking English, and even when I'm speaking English, I don't have any type of issues with my speech that would make me incoherent. I figured my phone might have been breaking up but Gosh!! I'm sure there was a much nicer way to have said it. I actually go out of my way to get to this place. When I 1st went after waiting forever to get a chance to go, I was kinda bummed. The 2nd time was because they are probably the largest brick and mortar chocolate mold store and possibly had what I needed. There won't be a 3rd time especially with the phone etticate matching the personal etticate. I will travel to Barbara of Pauline's or San Bruno to...
Read moreThe supplies are great, and the staff is helpful when I've been in there, but I have to knock some stars off for their inconsistent hours. It's what compelled me to write this review in the first place. They are only open 3 days a week, for 6 hours each day, and 10AM to 4PM means anyone with a standard 9-5 job is out of luck until Saturday. I called today a little before 3PM and got no answer, so we tried dropping by at 3:25PM, and the store was dark and shuttered. If you are going to maintain such limited hours, the least you could do for your customers is stick to posted hours so they feel like they can rely on you. And if you need to close the shop for an emergency, add something to your voicemail so customers don't waste their time with a trip.
This is not the first time we have shown up at the store and it was closed during open hours, and it has happened enough that I felt it needed to be brought up. I always want to support local businesses, but this makes...
Read moreLots of interesting classes at good value. I've taken a couple of classes here that were a lot of fun and very reasonably priced. The store itself has been around forever and has everything cake related you may ever want to buy. The cake decorating class is 2 hrs a night for 4 nights. It's a nice, informal atmosphere. We learned to do various borders, flowers, roses, etc. You can buy all the supplies at the store at a discount. And then the day after thanksgiving I took my son in for the mini-gingerbread decorating event. It was an hour long, they had cute little houses all ready to go with icing and candy for us to use. A couple of his friends were also there - maybe 7 or 8 kids total - and they all seemed to...
