We stayed on January 15, 2017. Two of my daughters had a volleyball tournaments at the San Jose convention center, we decided to stay at this location because of the good reviews I even called and spoke to one of the managers Antonio to let him know that we 're looking forward to staying at this location Antonio seem really nice. PLEASE DON'T STAY AT THIS PLACE IT'S TERRIBLE STARTING WITH PARKING AND SERVICE. We had a terrible experience, when we arrived we all wanted to take a shower and go to bed early so the girls could have a good rest because they needed to be at the convention center at 7:00am. Well that didn't happened we had no hot water my daughter was not able to rinse her hair because the water was freezing cold I notified the receptionist and she told us to wait for 5 mins than 10 than 15 she said they had no one available but i insisted after 30 mins she stated someone was on it's way. My daughter waited for over 50 mins until we had wormed up some water in the microwave so she could rinse her hair, she got sick was not able to play next day and I was the only one that took a shower. By the time they send someone the girls were in bed it was after 10pm, the man was really nice he only spoke spanish he told me that the water heater was turned down and to wait for 15 mins to get hot he did not understand why it was turned down. I also told the receptionist that the central heater was blowing cold air and the chimney could not get it to work either but nothing was done, I called her back really upset and asked to speak to Antonio the manager but she stated the manager on duty had gone home so i told her call him at home and have him call me. When the manager called me i expressed my concerns and he responded "what do you want me to do about it". He told me he would talk to me in the morning because he needed to talk to his maintenance guy but he was not there the receptionist told me he would call you on your cell phone it February 17, 2017 and I'm still waiting for his call. It's to bad this place it's part of the Marriott, it's been the first time we had any problems with a Marriott hotel and hope...
Read morei was so very pleased with my recent visit to the Residence Inn of Campbell/San Jose. The value was amazing; bringing the contents of my home freezer and placing it in yours meant i didn't have to spend an additional penny on food - or go and feel CREEPY at a restaurant during covid. And when I DID choose to go to the shops, I was able to leave my car at the room and simply walk across the street to the very nice grocery store for milk and the Walgreens was a few more steps away. My room - a standard studio - was REALLY spacious and very well appointed. The windows opened, the AC/heat was easy to turn on and off, the appliances were all very clean, modern, and easy to use. The sink/shower/bathroom was thoughtfully laid-out and allowed bathing by one roommate and mirror-time by the other roommate flawless. AND THE BED WAS SO COMFORTABLE... i have an expensive bed at home but had a much better night of sleep on my bed at Residence Inn! And OMGosh; the Wi-Fi signal was SO VERY accessible from most places on the property! My only complaints/caveats: 1. the selection of offerings on the TV system were AWFUL. This is NO FAULT of the local R.I. staff; the people in the corporate offices need to do better with regard to this as there are SO MANY robust offerings on TV now that there's no excuse... 2. I really really wish the BBQ pit had been open/available for our use. I understand it's a small area and hard govern the six-feet-social-distancing requirement HOWEVER a re-design of the area should be high on the next ideas for improvements... 3. The parking fee bummed me out. It's very a-typical in that part of the Bay Area and maybe R.I. Corporate would consider waiving it for Marriott Members. Finally, one tip: if you're a dedicated coffee drinker, bring some flat-bottomed filters and your own supply of coffee. The coffee maker is pretty good but the little filter packs are a pain and sort of worthless if you go through 4 or 6 cups in...
Read moreMaybe this was a "Top Hotel" once, (as described on the website). The list of problems with our room: Carpets stained with pet urine, chair scratched up, presumably by a cat, dirty fridge, filthy bathroom floor vent and kickboards, bath drain clogged with long dark hair, dripping faucets. (SEE PICS) On arrival we noticed that the room had a funky odor, and the A/C was not working properly. We dropped our cases off in the room, and went to reception to ask about the smell and report the A/C. The duty Manager, Lisa offered to go and spray the room with air freshener, or alternately, open the windows. We left the property for a few hours and upon our return, we found the windows cracked open and the A/C turned off. I went back to reception with a video of us attempting to reset the A/C - the programing had failed. I was told again to give it time to re-set. By 9:30pm the problem was not resolved, and we spent a miserable night with the windows open. In the light of day, we could see how dirty the room was. We were moved to another room, which while a great improvement was worn and in need of updating. We had breakfast around 7:30 each morning. The 'HOT' breakfast consisted of a toasted English muffin sausage sandwich that was rock hard, yogurts in a dish of ice and a small selection of bagels, muffins, cereal and bananas. I never saw more than 6 of any these items available at one time. No preserves at all. There is a toaster. On Sunday the dining room is closed, so it is a bagged bagel with cream cheese! Oh, and they don't trust the guests with the toaster on Sunday. It was put away and I was told I had to go back to my room if I wanted my bagged bagel toasted. Marriott sent my observations to management at the hotel, but I have little hope that it will make any difference to the way this...
