If you're in San Jose and craving an authentic fish and chips experience, look no further than Golden Catch Fish & Chips. Nestled in the heart of the city by the airport this spot is a true treasure for seafood lovers.
Plate 1: The Hungry (Fish & Shrimp) - The Hungry combo is a must-try. Featuring a generous serving of both fish and shrimp, this plate is a delight from the first bite to the last. The fish is perfectly fried—crispy on the outside while juicy and tender on the inside. The shrimp are equally impressive, with a satisfying crunch that complements their succulent texture. Each piece is seasoned to perfection, making every bite a harmonious blend of flavors.
Plate 2: Fish Rice Bowl - The fish rice bowl is another standout dish. It’s a hearty and filling option, combining well-seasoned fish with a bed of fluffy, flavorful rice. The bowl is balanced and satisfying, providing a wonderful alternative to the traditional fish and chips platter.

Read moreThe lady who runs this little sea food restaurant is absolutely one of the sweetest people I've met in a while! The service alone is reason to go back.
She apparently makes her own Cajun seasoning which she also uses to make her own Cajun sauce which is one of the yummiest Cajun sauces I've had. It had me craving crawdads!
I'm still eating but had to stop to post this review. I'll add more once we are done with our meal!
Edit: WHAT!? FOOD THIS GOOD SHOULD BE ILLEGAL! This food is DELICIOUS! The fish, the shrimp and even the -fries- are SUPERB!
How is she getting it out so fast yet having everything not only cooked to perfection, but almost as if every dish is another specialty as opposed to one being better than the rest! Even the rice was on point, I wish I could cook rice like this! Perfect texture.
As for the sauces...I don't know where to start! Some of them are SURPRISINGLY yummy, especially the lemon garlic butter, mango habanero, spicy chili lemon, the ranch and last but certainly not least, the center point of them all, the Cajun sauce. I tried every single one and I don't think there was even one that I...
Read moreI went here on a whim with my partner and this is honestly one of the only restaurants I've felt like Keith Lee should come and boost.
Atmosphere: It's tucked away in a little corner in San Jose- it has a beautiful outdoor patio with a huge mural. Plenty of seating when we went, but it was also 4pm.
Service: We didn't have to wait long for food and the person behind the counter was also the owner. He made the food himself, ran the food to us, and then checked on us a few times, and also bussed the table. Clearly he wanted us taken care of, and it was great getting to chat- we ended up visiting on the one year anniversary of his store opening.
Food: hot diggity dog the fish n chips were great. The slaw was delicious. The fish were extremely fresh from the frier so it had a great crunch. The Cajun fries were seasoned perfectly. The lemonade hit the spot on a 90 degree day.
I guess overall I'd say, go here. You have to! The price was good, the food was great, and the people were so nice. I don't live in San Jose but if I did, this would be a weekly thing...
