We stumbled along this place by distance and the reviews. We were about to fly out and wanted some good Asian food. The pics and reviews don't do this place justice! I eat out a LOT and this is my new favorite spot. I can honestly say the best Chinese food I've had. The service was amazing. I can't believe the place isn't packed. Their decor is cute and restrooms are clean. We started with the crispy tofu. I am normally not a fan of it but my boyfriend wanted to try it and I'm so glad he did. It was crunchy and the sauce that accompanied it was tasty. We shared the Kung pao and general tso and there was so many umami moments. We also had jasmine tea and that was herby and delicious. The combination fried rice was not an after thought. I could have just eaten that and been great. They go out of their way to make sure everything tastes so good and it shows. I can't say enough good things about them. I can't wait to visit San Jose again. I just wish San Antonio wasn't so far away.

A very sad excuse for a Pad See Ew... I ordered it with chicken (which was tender), but the portions were so strange! There was A LOT of egg and noodles, but very little broccoli and chicken. I explicitly asked the waitress for "light oil" since this dish tends to be on the oily side... and to my surprise... they served it to me GLISTENING in a big puddle of oil. I was shocked! The entire dish just tasted like OIL. There was very little soy sauce flavor too. It was actually very bland and overwhelmingly greasy. It was a struggle to finish eating this... I hate to write this review since I am normally a big supporter of locally-owned Thai restaurants, but I really did not enjoy this dish and I hope they will make it less oily in the future. I might be back to try their Kao Soi (Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup)... maybe that will be much more flavorful and enjoyable?

It’s Chinese and Burmese cuisine with Thai influence. It had nice seating inside and the plates were so pretty, definitely added to the nice ambiance. Also hide nice flowers outside. They had plenty of vegetarian options, all of which were delicious. The samosas were good when dipped into the sweet and sour sauce. I ordered sweet and sour tofu; the tofu had a nice crunch and this dish usually comes with fish or meat so I’m glad I was able to try it after so many years of earring veggie. The pad Thai is a must! You can customize and substitute to fit dietary needs such as vegetarian or vegan. Eggplant with garlic sauce, pad kee-mao, Tom kha soup (veggie stock) and mango sticky rice were also delicious. I don’t eat meat, but family members enjoyed the firecracker chicken. Great options overall.

This is one of my favorite local restaurants, and I am a regular now. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to dietary needs (I am mostly vegetarian, and they make the tea leaf salad without the fish sauce for me). The owner clearly loves her work and takes the time to get to know her customers and their preferences.

The food here is very good and reasonably priced. It's hard to pick out something special because I like most everything I've had here, but I think the tea leaf salad is one of my favorites. I've never seen it at any other restaurant, and it combines tastes and textures to make something unique and refreshing.

By the way, looking over the reviews on this site, I see that the older reviews (more than a couple of years ago) appear to be written about the Thai restaurant that used to occupy the same building: Siam Square. Siam Square closed its doors a few years back, and Sweet Mango opened shortly thereafter. The ownership and management is completely different, so those older reviews aren't...

Update: The last few visits have made us move on to a different restaurant. The quality of the food has definitely gone down here.

Have been here twice now. Very good quality food and service. This is the best Chinese food I have been able to find anywhere in the Bay Area. We have tried many other Chinese restaurants and this is the only one we have been willing to go back to again, and we will continue to go back here.

Good size portions and very fresh food. I definitely recommend eating here.

One of the times I ate here was with a friend who is a vegetarian and he is the one who recommended it, so there should be plenty of options if you are vegetarian.

It is a small place with limited seating so go early or make a reservation. We usually eat early so it's not a problem to get a table. Very busy with take out orders also.

They also have their own parking lot, which is unusual near this busy downtown Willow Glen area. It's small but matches the capacity of the seating and there is street parking on Willow...

Your experience when having lunch or dinner at Sweet Mango is always above and beyond, and this week, I went there for dinner and for lunch and was not disappointed. I have traveled in the last 2 years to China, Burma, and Thailand, and with its intricate combination of exotic spices and high quality of the ingredients, Sweet Mango rivaled the best restaurants in those countries. Not only does the owner remember us, she remembered what we ordered the last time we were there. I have a friend with special dietary needs who must have a gluten-free meal, and not only did she understand completely, they put together several delicious dishes after discussing the ingredients and particular likes and dislikes with my friend...and even more amazing is that it did not take a long time for us to receive our meal. I have never heard of a busy restaurant that goes out of their way to this extent. All I can do is say "bravo," make return visits frequently, and highly recommend them which I have just...
