These guys were having Cinco De Mayo special -- Buy 2 Tacos Get 1 Free. I ordered 6 and got 3 Free. They used different meats for the Free ones. The meats looks different and smelt really bad and it looks like they were using expired meat. They didn't bother putting onions and cilantro on the free ones either. The paid tacos that I ordered were super dry and had some odor, too. I had food poisoning right after eating their food. I had diarrhea and threw up twice with bad stomach ache. Also these guys rip you off on the churros. One order is consist of 3 churros and they go for $10.50. They changed me for 2 orders and only put 1 order. I only found out when I got home. They will try to confuse you on the pricing and act like they have language barrier. You cannot order just one individual churro. Their price is really inflated and expensive. I swear you could be dining in at a nice restaurant with the prices they're charging. On top of that, they charging service fees. What the hell? This is a food truck and fast food quality foods at most. Their menu doesn't show pricing so you will only find out right after you paid when you get the receipt. Shady practice of business. Also, check your statement because they overcharged me. I will not be coming back because of the shady way they practice their business, low quality foods and super expensive pricing -- on top of that, I got sick from eating their food. The city of San Jose needs to send a food inspector to check their kitchen and foods. They are only here to rip-off high school kids. The food truck right across the street and the taqueria are better alternative than these guys.
Update: These guys were serving meats that were infected with E-Coli. I'm looking at possibly talking with my...
Read moreHappened to be in an area I'm never in so I wanted to try this spot. It's not that great, sadly. I tried 4 tacos.
They're fair with their meat quantity and the tortillas and onions/cilantro are fresh. Here's the meat breakdowns:
Quesabirria - Pretty decent, but super mushy and wet. Lots of meat, decent flavor. Nothing special but not bad. Consumé with it is delicious, though, even if it only came out lukewarm.
Tripas - MEGA dry and chewy. Good flavor but the meat was like a dog treat.
Al pastor - Seemed low effort. Gritty meat, a bit bland. Nothing like al pastor off a rotisserie.
Asada - Nothing special either, but okay. A bit dry and flavor was basic. No special char, grilling, marinading.
The orange (habanero) salsa and green salsa were good, but I had to depend on those to liven up the tacos.
Overall a really basic experience with nothing standout about it at all. Was hoping for more. They have a HUGE menu so maybe they do other items better but I judge based off of tacos and...
Read moreWe eat here at least once a week and our favorites are anything with birria, carnitas, carne asada and the French fries. Most meals come with a small serving of rice and beans which are also very good. The flour and corn tortillas are delicious and the cheese on the quesadillas is excellent. Tastes buttery and is a mix of good Mexican cheese and cheddar. Burritos are huge and easily feed two people. Very good value as the servings are really large.
The carnitas are the standout item for me as theirs are always tender and tasty, like they're cooked in the traditional way but less crispy. The fries are crinkle cut and perfectly fried then salted and peppered. My husband's new favorite is the birria grilled sandwich. It's birria sandwiched between cheese on a roll and then grilled. Delicious!
The owner of the food truck is happy to make anything to your liking and...
