Metropol Restaurant — Restaurant in San Juan

This is my first review since I joined yesterday. So yesterday I went there as a casual lunch with some other people because I was nearby the area and well... they have lunch specials until 2:00pm. For those folks that don't know Metropol Rest. is a Cuban food type of restaurant, very familiar and it's been around few years in PR and there is couple more here and there. I had Gallinita (hen) it's like eating a tasty chicken but way more tender, this type of meat tends to be harder than chicken but they made it so tender, it melts in your mouth with Congri and Amarillos( Cuban rice and yellow plantains, perfect combination)...well for less than $10 bucks it's worth it. My daughter had Pechuga Rellena de Mofongo, it was ok, well... size is good if you are hungry though... and hey, it was chicken breast ( if you know what I mean) and my son had Churrasco... I was expecting some grill flat churrasco and for me it was a bit disappointing (it came chopped on a greasy sauce made of peppers, onions and soy sauce on a bowl... it was like a traditional pepper-steak but made of skirt steak). I wanted a dessert but they didn't have variety, just some flan and 3 kinds or so of cheesecake. In general, it was ok, service and sizes were good. There is a next time and I will try different...

Metropol restaurant has become one of my favorite places to indulge in delicious Cuban cuisine. Every time I visit, I am met with outstanding service and an unforgettable dining experience.

I was with my family celebrating my aunt's birthday . I had squid with rice in ink, with fish and shrimps and it was delicious. We had a jug of Sangria with the food and it was very good. The service was great. They have a large menu to choose from and a variety of wines to select. I recommend it.

Today, July 1, 2022, I was with my wife, my daughter, my father-in-law and my nephew. We had for appetizers mini Alcapurrias and Fish Ceviche which was delicious. I had Shredded Beef with Mamposteao Rice and Sweet Plantains. It was very good. The rest had different plates and they all enjoyed it too. The associates and service was great. I recommend it again.

Wednesday, July 13, 2022, I was with my father-in-law. We had for appetizers mini Fried Codfish Fritters (Bacalaitos Fritos) and Octopus Salad (Ensalada de Pulpo) boy they were delicious.
