My boyfriend and I stopped in on our last day of vacation in lovely Puerto Rico to this AMAZING establishment. It was a busy Friday night and we were seated quickly and close to the live music.
We came in with the expectation that this was like a tapas bar in the states, it was not, it was much much more.
We also decided to stay due to the impeccable hospitality given to us by a waiter of the name, El Nene. Their whole menu is in Spanish, and although we both know minimal Spanish, we are not at the Read a Menu in Spanish level. “The Kid” took his time to read through THE WHOLE menu, while also adding in with commentary of what was popular with locals and himself.
His recommendations and thoroughness were spot on and we both agreed that it was by far the best meal and service we had while on vacation.
Our calamari with a lemon sauce was something I will continue to compare all calamari to. I had the conch salad, due to being full from our beginners, which was also amazing. My boyfriend loved his lamb thigh (?) which was served with a gravy.
All of the staff are incredibly attentive. During our meal, I noticed that each one treats you as if you are their guest. Which is not very common in many restaurants anymore. We also had the opportunity to meet the chef, which made for a...
Read moreCelebrating our 21st wedding anniversary and choose to go here based on the reviews of the food. It located at the Oneill st. Hato Rey so is a narrow street with limited parking space fortunately, has valet parking Was a Thursday night and the place was full. Went without reservations and luckily get a table. The other reviews were right stating that the main salon (they called the cave) was as loud as a basketball arena.. but the service was excellent( is nice to go to a restaurant and found tables with table cloths and serve bread and water) the food was incredibly good!!! Start with the “caldo gallego” , the fried breaded squid with lemon amazing. Continued with the “ravioli alfredo stuff with pear and cheese accompanied with shrimp amazing combination of flavors. Next the “jarrete de cordero al vino” my son ordered without bone and on top of pasta very very good! And finally the waiter recommended something out of the menu: “Hallibut filet in white wine sauce with risotto” the portion was huge and the taste was out of this world!!! (worth the $47 price for the plate) The decor of the place is outdated but the food is amazingly good. Worth the visit if want to enjoy good...
Read moreThis restaurant is hands down the best place I've had Spanish food. If I could give it six stars, I absolutely would. From the outside, it may seem small, but once you step inside, it opens up into a spacious dining area. They offer valet parking.
The staff welcomed us warmly, and our waiter provided excellent service—always attentive without being intrusive. The appetizers were fantastic; the octopus was a standout.
For the main course, my filet mignon strips were incredibly tender and cooked to perfection. However, the true highlight of the evening was my wife’s dish ravioli stuffed with pear and various cheeses. One bite left me craving more.
The dessert, while not the best part of the meal, was still well executed. I truly commend the chef for delivering such a remarkable dining experience. Overall, I left with a sense of...
