Unfortunately, my recent visit to Romano's Macaroni Grill was quite disappointing. We waited about 30 minutes for a table, which was confusing because the restaurant appeared to be largely empty. When we inquired about the wait despite the visible empty tables, we were then informed that the kitchen was short-staffed. This information would have been helpful upfront. We weren't given any heads-up about potential delays in food service, nor were we offered the option to be seated and perhaps order drinks while we waited for the kitchen to catch up. Instead, we were left waiting by the entrance, hungry and increasingly frustrated. Ultimately, we had no choice but to leave, still starving and quite let down by the experience. Given the apparent understaffing issues, I'm not sure I'd try to go again.

This is a place I’ve seen for many years but never had the opportunity to enjoy until tonight. From the time we walked in I felt welcomed and comfortable and the server was friendly knowledgeable and efficient. The appetizer came out in perfect sync and even though the bar was slightly backed up the wait was reasonable. I really enjoyed the shrimp scampi and although in sure it gave me some extra work to do the next time I go to the gym, it was so absolutely flavorful and creamy that it’s so worth it! I never order desert but I had the cheesecake and my friend had the brownie and ice cream and although I loved both I think I’d get the brownie next time jejeje. I really enjoyed this place and look forward to coming back at some point.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. NEVER GOING AGAIN. My boyfriend and I went into the restaurant at around 13:00 and came out at 15:00 because of the super slow and awful service. Our table was right next to the kitchen, which I normally would not mind at all, but the staff inside were really loud. We kept hearing them shouting through our entire meal and it bothered us a lot. Our waitress was Lily. We ordered a lunch combo and an appetizer. The lunch combo we ordered cost about $12.99 and the appetizer was free because we used a coupon (tax not included). The combo included mushroom soup, chicken and pasta, and a dessert. When I ordered, I showed her the LUNCH MENU instead of the regular one so she knew we were ordering the combo. I swear the time we had been waiting for our food was three times longer than the time we were eating! We became really impatient but did not show our anger. We still thanked Lily each time she served us food. After finishing the entree, we then ordered our dessert. My boyfriend told Lily he wanted a panacotte, as it was on the lunch combo. She gave him some choices and he ordered the chocolate flavor. But she gave us a strawberry one. We had to tell her to send the correct one. When we asked for the check, I was very shocked because it said $30 something on the bill instead of the price of the combo (it would be about $15 with taxes). We asked Lily why, she told us because we ordered the CHOCOLATE flavor dessert, not the COCONUT flavor that says on the menu, so everything was charged separately. I then asked my boyfriend to tell her how dissatisfied I was (my Spanish is not that good), thinking that she would at least apologize. But no, she told us to order the coconut dessert to go so they could charge us the combo and the chocolate dessert we mistakenly ordered because of her carelessness. In the end, we still had to pay more than we expected and did not receive any apology even when the manager also knew about our situation! No way we're...

Good but not great like the first and original restaurant. Yes, I enjoyed my dining experience at the original Romano's Macaroni Grill near Boerne, Texas, where portions were incredibly large and the atmosphere was fantastic. The original location was near a university and the opera students who worked there as waitstaff would often sing ballads of opera. What an incredible experience before major storms destroyed the place years later. Yesterday, I came for food to go. Ordered a simple appetizer sampler trio of calamari fritta, ricotta meatballs, and fried mozzarella. It took nearly forever to get (30 minutes) and we discovered why. Someone brought the order upfront and put it to the side, but did not communicate to the hostesses that took my order, so they did not know it was there. As I walked out with my order, I discovered the meatballs were missing. Ugh. More waiting time. By now, my food had already gotten cold except for the meatballs. It is a pitty, because I was really looking forward to eating some hot Macaroni Grill's calamari fritta, but it was cold and chewy, and so were the fried mozzarella. I lost my appetite and did not eat the meatballs after that. The portions are a lot smaller than they used to be. The only saving grace were the waitstaff. They seem to be very nice, pleasant, and cordial. Maybe I will come back another day, and this time, I will eat-in so as to avoid the dilemma with...
