With the capacity to only sit 30 people at any given time, it can be a contorting effort to squeeze down the aisle to one of the fourteen counter stools. So, don't be the dummy that comes to this eatery seven deep.

$5.50 will get you two eggs, hashbrowns (or grits), and toast.

$6.95 will get you two eggs, hasbrowns (or grits), four sausage links and toast.

Why do I keep mentioning the grits? Because I love grits and they're not always offered at every joint. But for $7.75, I went for the chicken-fried steak...with grits.

My plate of food came unadorned with flavorless and out-of-season fruit garnish or curly parsley. It came uncoddled by waitresses asking me if there was anything else I needed every ten-seconds. It did come with tender cubed steak with an ultra crunchy exterior -- so crunchy it never surrendered to sogginess -- covered in brown gravy. It had correctly pan fried over-medium eggs with runny yolks and solid whites. Grits thick enough to eat with a fork, creamy enough to submit and mingle with the yolk runoff.

I didn't notice the chicken-fried steak was naked of its usual country milk pepper gravy until my dining companion brought it to my attention whilst standing inside of a thrift store, 15...

I was in the area to visit a local sports store and had some time for breakfast. Looking on Google I decided to stop here. I am glad I did. Driving up I found a small green building that had me second guessing myself but when I found a parking spot right in front I pulled in. Inside is set up in typical diner fashion with a few tables and counter seating. I was seated promptly. I ordered French toast, eggs, bacon and coffee. All was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the crispy bacon. While I was enjoying my breakfast I noticed several people come in and pick up orders or sit down to eat. I must have got there just in time to avoid the rush. The staff was very pleasant and had excellent customer service. My coffee cup was never empty. I was checked on several times, not only by my waitress but by the other staff as well. This place was a pleasant surprise and I will defiantly be stopping in again when I am in the area. Highly...

Food was good, at-home type meal (but a tad better since you didn't have to do any work in the kitchen for it). Korean BBQ plate was very flavorful with a good amount of spice. This place definitely gets more crowded as you get into the later morning hours. In case you don't know (I had no idea when I first went.. and no one there told me), if you're just placing an order for takeout they ask for your number when they take your order. You are expected to wait outside or in your car (also no one told me my first time around). They send you a text once your food is ready, which I guess is supposed to help with the crowding inside. Servers could be better at keeping customers - especially newcomers - more informed of their system. Parking is also a challenge. That said, I'd definitely come back and would choose this place over...

My mom and I came to this place by the garbage guy that serves our neighborhood.. Then my husband was also told that this place is a jewel 💎 We were served by Emma, she was so nice to us. We acknowledged her that it was our first time there. Coffee was hot and not burned. I ordered bacon and eggs with very picky request. Hash browns are delicious. My Mom ordered French toast and a side of bacon. She shared with me a slice to French toast and omg. It was fluffy, soft and not dry. Very nice vanilla flavor. The syrup was warmed and so now we’re hooked to this place. We had to put our names on the wait list as the sitting is limited because it’s a small place but it’s name says it all, the fifth wheel, a rare jewel near downtown San Leandro. Service and food are better than the Pelton cafe

The food here is delicious! They give you good portions and the price is reasonable. I don’t usually take pics of food but I had to share this place with you all! The customer service isn’t the best. I had a young fella as my server and it felt like he wanted to be anywhere but there. No please, Thank You, check-in on food, etc. It seemed like a family run place and he seemed like the son. The “owners” were very friendly and focused on the restaurant. I would come back here for the food! I don’t need to be coddled when I eat breakfast, I just want the server to pretend to care during our 30 second interactions. Still have them 5 stars for amazing food and cute little place off the road! *parking sketchy*

The breakfast was fabulous. Eggs were over easy as I asked, bacon was crisp and thick and consisted of 4 generous slices. The pancakes were phenomenal and optimally sized. Hence I’m glad I asked for 3. My coffee was acceptable. So why not 5 stars? Because when she came by to ask if I’d like more coffee, I asked whether she might pour it in a cup to go (as I ask everywhere I go). This was the first time a server paused to say that would cost an extra dollar. So I asked if she would simply bring me a cup and I’d pour the rest of my coffee into it 🤷🏽‍♂️. She brought the cup. I still left a tip for the wonderful meal but no 5 stars!
