Local Take: Get Buffalo Ice-Cream & support local Buffalos! What can I say, I love both Sheepsmilk & Buffalo Ice-Creams, and still like finer Cow products too. This new place is the Perfect Scoop for a reason, I like perfection in my icecream & this is quite close to it.
After the pleasant staff helped me with the tastings, I still favored the Buffalo versions. The young lady who chatted with me thru the tastings was charming & the young man crafting a new tub was doing a great job. How do I know? I used to be a Carvel Ice-Cream store manager in the highest volume & most successful store in the entire state of NY.
Espresso had a great Coffee taste with nice nibbles of tiny Chocolate chips...it was well balanced & delicious. The Cherry came close in flavor as did the Vanilla, so I had a large cup with all three. This was after I had three Baos & a large Curry from the other wonderful vendors in this amazing food court.
I would say that Perfect Scoop is up there with my other local favorites such as Negranti in Tin City/Paso, but is a heck of a lot closer to my home in Shell Beach.
The perfect scoop definitely helps creat the perfect meal that I had here on my first food filled visit here. It consisted of Mushroom Char Sui Bings Bao Buns, a Savory Pork Thai Curry Meal, and ended with a huge cup of Buffalo Milk Ice-cream. All local, non-chain, & all fresh & wonderful.
Thanks to Perfect Scoop for the Perfect Desert for my SLO Public Market...
Read moreI was kind of blown away by this little ice cream place. I thought it was one of those little frou-frou places where you get one small cup for $5 instead we got beautiful big scoops and the ice cream was absolutely fantastic. My son's chocolate shake he said was the best he'd ever had, and this is coming from a 12-year old who has had hundreds of chocolate shakes I had peanut butter Oreo ice cream, which I had never seen before, and which in my mind should become a staple of every ice cream maker. My other flavor was chocolate mint raspberry wow! Will definitely be returning With Friends. Only negative was that it was in a food court, but you could go outside and enjoy...
Read moreFound this place quite by accident but what a delight! A reasonably limited selection of flavors but still enough for everyone to find something tasty. Flavors run from standard to more complex and come in either cow's milk from CalPoly Dairy or water buffalo's milk from Petaluma. Everything we tasted was impossibly creamy with really good flavor. Chip flavors have mini chocolate chips vs shavings or hard chunks. They sell scoops and prepackaged pints. Staff was friendly and great at explaining the difference in the milks (fat content is key)
Important note- it is located in the Public Market Google didn't show that particularly well. Lots of parking...
