Twenty South — Restaurant in San Luis Obispo

New coffee shop located within the SLO Public Market on the South side of SLO Proper and a few minutes South of Downtown/Cal Poly that will be a fantastic addition for this county's residents.

Had the pleasure of dropping in this morning for my first time and got to meet the owner Andre who was extremely generous with his time. He let me know he and his team took over their new location just 9 days ago in the SLO Public Market (formerly Pixies/Rambling Spirits 1.0).

It was clear in our brief conversation that Andre has an exciting vision for the space given his past experience + time spent bringing this company to life. He mentioned wanting to establish the shop as one of SLO County + the 805 area code's very best multi-origin focused coffee shops that will also specialize in made-to-order small bites (breakfast/lunch), and cocktails (in future) given the liquor license he also procured with the new lease.

I ordered a brown sugar (all syrups made in house) latte and my wife a dirty chai tea with a shot of decaf and both drinks were absolutely phenomenal. I can see Andre's talents as a barista rivaling other top coffee shops in SLO such as Scout & Field Day (where he formerly worked) and Twenty South being a hot commodity for coffee lovers in SLO that appreciate a tucked away location from the University/Downtown where parking is free + ample.

Looking forward to frequenting Twenty South a lot more with how close it is to our place. Will be exciting to see Andre grow his vision over time for the space itself given it's potential with a full kitchen/outdoor patio. I have a better feeling about the nature of this business in comparison to the previous tenants for this space. I'd highly recommend locals to pay Andre + Twenty South a visit especially if you love coffee + tea! Make sure to enter through their patio door that faces California Tacos before...

I stumbled across Twenty South when it first opened after hearing about it from a customer at my work. I had no expectations going in, but it’s safe to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is genuinely some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. It’s always consistent, and I never have to wonder if it’s going to be good, because it always is. The quality is unmatched.

The food is just as amazing. I usually don’t like eating eggs from restaurants because they’re often overcooked, but these are the fluffiest eggs I’ve ever had. I also love how the menu changes regularly, you can really see the creativity come to life with every dish.

Being a college student who's not originally from the area, it's hard to find places that feel like home. So honestly, the best part about Twenty South isn’t just the food or coffee, it’s the community. Huge shoutout to Andre for being such a kind and genuine business owner. He always brightens my day whenever I stop by. And thank you to Chef Steve, the genius behind all the delicious meals, who is always good for a laugh. To all the baristas and staff, you guys are awesome!
