Absolutely extraordinary experience at Tabu Sushi, all thanks to the incredible service provided by Priscilla! From the moment we walked in, her warm and welcoming demeanor set the tone for a perfect dining experience. She greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel like VIPs, taking the time to explain the menu and offer thoughtful recommendations that suited our preferences perfectly.
Priscilla’s attention to detail was unmatched. She checked in on us at just the right moments, ensuring our glasses were always full and our dishes arrived at the ideal temperature. Her positive attitude was contagious — it truly elevated the entire atmosphere of the restaurant. It felt less like dining out and more like enjoying a meal at the home of a close friend who cares about your experience.
The sushi itself was phenomenal, but it was Priscilla’s exceptional service and enthusiasm that truly made the evening unforgettable. Her professionalism and passion for what she does are evident in every interaction. If you’re lucky enough to have Priscilla take care of you, rest assured that you’re in for an exceptional time — she’s a rare gem in the world of hospitality. I can’t recommend her or Tabu...
Read moreOur favorite sushi place in San Diego county. The only problem with this place is that they're too far from home! If they were closer, we would be there a lot more often, for sure.
When you go (Yes, you really have to go), be sure to order the beer and sake combo, and order the Asahi beer... A much better flavor than Kirin or Sapporo. We prefer the sake warm, but to each his own.
Once your drink order is out of the way, it's time to get down to the serious business of enjoying their food!
Sometimes we like to hit it at happy hour, and order one of just about everything, but it's just as good to hit it with their normal menu, and enjoy the regular prices with the absolutely awesome rolls. Today was kind of special, we hit it at the end of happy hour, So we got a few happy hour treats and then moved on to their usual selection of really great rolls.
Yeah, there are other sushi places we visit, mostly because they're closer to home, but when we have the time, It's Tabu Sushi is always our number one choice.
Sorry, no pictures this time, but I'm sure I've uploaded some...
Read moreWish I could do 2 1/2 stars. This was my first time dining at Tabu, not sure if I will give it another chance. Sushi was alright, too expensive for what it was. We ordered the lemon cilantro roll which I would highly recommend and only go back for that roll, maybe, the habibi which was rather bland basically tasted like a spicy tuna roll, and the Oh baby which I would also recommend. The service needed work. We went during lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was virtual empty apart from 3 other tables yet the three waitresses soent more time taking care one table each and er were left waiting for drinks and it took over thrity minutes for three sushi rolls despite having also three sushi chefs. I had to get the attention of a waitress for refills of water after they walked by multiple times without even checking in on us. What should've be a 30-40 minute meal at most, took over an hour with most of that time waiting for food (which was good when it eventually came) and service. I will stick to my usual places Sushi Yama and...
