We were able to attend an event this past Tuesday hosted by Maya, Mulk, and Yelp. Three words... crazy good cookies!!!!! "Share the Love" is Maya's motto and let me say you feel the love from the moment you walk through the doors and into the storefront up through every delicious morsel of cookie. The store itself is bright and cheerful and just looks happy. The staff is amazing, they were super helpful and very friendly. Smiles are great, they are contagious, it is hard not to smile when other are smiling. We were lucky enough to meet Maya, what a warm, friendly, overall welcoming awesome person she is. You can tell that Maya and her staff care about their customers just as much as they care about their amazing cookies.
On to the cookies. WOW, simply put WOW! Thank you to Maya and her team we got to sample the Obama, the Lemon Chiffon, and the Chocolate Chip S'Mores cookies. Shout out to one of our favorite local vendors as well from the Mulk Co for pairing the awesome Mulk products with the cookies (the pairings complimented each cookie perfectly). Each cookie was uniquely different but equally as tasty. It is hard to choose a favorite. The lemon was light and refreshing and perfect for Spring and Summer and the Obama had a hint of chocolate mint which was reminiscent of the holidays (and I loved this cookie!).
I bought a variety dozen to try at home and every cookie was amazing. The Drunken Grandma was packed with flavor and had the perfect amount of rum soaked raisin's and the Brown Sugar Butterscotch was the perfect sweet, not too overpowering (just enough to curb my sweet tooth), and the Tennessee Whiskey Chocolate Chip left me speechless.
I take my sweets very seriously, it is literally my favorite food groups. Maya makes amazing and unique cookies and she does so with good ingredients. I am not a Vegan but you do not need to be to eat these cookies. Whether you are a fan of chocolate, butterscotch, lemon, or even rum raisin Maya's has a great variety with something scrumptious for everyone.
Thank you To Maya's for the warm welcome and delicious cookies, thank you to Mulk Company for the perfect compliment to cookies, and thank you Anne and Yelp for another amazing event and for getting us out there to try new stuff. Maya's and...
Read moreMaya's Cookies in San Marcos is a nice find in the vibrant new area. As someone who enjoys exploring new shops and restaurants, stumbling upon Maya's Cookies was a nice surprise. My first visit left me impressed with the overall experience.
Customer service played a significant role in enhancing my visit. The server was not only friendly but also highly knowledgeable about the cookies and the shop itself. She patiently answered all my questions, providing an abundance of insightful information that added to the enjoyment of the experience.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the cookies. As someone who was initially unsure about what to expect from vegan cookies, Maya's Cookies exceeded my expectations. I sampled the S'mores and Wheat-free Coconut Chocolate Chip, and both were a treat for the taste buds.
The S'mores cookie was soft and indulgent, with a generous dollop of marshmallow nestled in the center. While it boasted plenty of chocolate chips, I couldn't help but notice a slight absence of the distinct graham cracker flavor that typically accompanies S'mores. Nevertheless, it was a delightful treat.
The Wheat-free Coconut Chocolate Chip cookie, on the other hand, was an absolute delight. It was impressively large and offered a perfect balance of sweetness, coconut flakes, and rich chocolate chips. The fact that it was wheat-free added to its appeal, making it an inclusive option for those with dietary restrictions.
One aspect that particularly caught my attention was the Happy Hour offer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-5 pm. This intriguing promotion piqued my curiosity, and I couldn't resist the temptation to return and experience it firsthand. I'm eager to discover how many customers flock to Maya's Cookies during that single hour of discounted bliss.
In conclusion, Maya's Cookies is a must-visit destination for cookie enthusiasts in San Marcos. With exceptional customer service, delicious vegan treats, and enticing promotions like Happy Hour, it's a place that warrants repeat visits. I, for one, am eagerly looking forward to indulging in more of Maya's...
Read moreVegan Series, Part 3 So what do you do if you have a sweet tooth and your search for Vegan gourmet cookies has left you with an empty cavity deep inside your heart? Well if it’s 2015 and you’re Maya Madsen, you trail blaze a path to develop and refine your own recipes, of course!
The cookies we sampled were crispy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside, and packed with flavor! You’ve had that before you say? Well was the cookie you’re thinking of produced with plant-based ingredients? If not, then we’re talking apples and oranges here (or is that celery and radishes? I’m new to the Vegan experience, so you’ll have to forgive my lack of knowledge regarding the nomenclature. I’m clearly not Vegan fluent yet.). Whatever your views on this subject, you gotta give it up for Maya’s commitment to use “no eggs, no dairy, and no animal products…ever!”
I hope that Maya would view this as a compliment, but her cookies are so good that had I not already known they were Vegan I would have had no reason to guess that. 🤤
And that’s…Henry’s...
