Ryan Bros Coffee of San Marcos — Restaurant in San Marcos

Sadly, I don't see the hype. I saw the great reviews and was hoping for another great shop to add to our list during our trip to CA. It has a kind of old school 90s coffee shop vibe - nothing updated at all. The cold brew was just ok. Nothing to write home about. And it's definitely not nitro cold brew. I'm not sure why they call it that... nothing nitrogen infused about it at all. It's just mediocre cold brew coming from a tap.

While I did not get an espresso-based drink, I was very disappointed to see they have abandoned standard espresso. So be warned, they don't actually serve any espresso here, despite what the menu says.

Went for the holiday flight delight. Found out even though this location is bigger than the San Diego locations they do not have any holiday flavors at all or participate in serving the 4 holiday flight flavors. Said they were just a small branch yet have more property space and seating than their other locations. My friend asked for kids temp and I asked for super hot as I personally find most coffee served like warm these days. Baristas laughed, said okay. When served our coffees we asked which was which and her response was “Oh there the same. I thought you were kidding”. Lamest location and service of any Ryan’s Brothers locations. Don’t waste your time, go to the central San Diego, City Heights locations even if it’s a further drive, it’s worth it. Sad representation of Ryan’s Brothers...

I’ve been coming to this coffee shop every day for several months now, and what else can I say but, “wow”. As a coffee devotee and cafe enthusiast I can proudly say I’ve never been to an establishment such as this. The service? Immaculate. The atmosphere? Trending. The coffee? Revolutionary. The food? Devine. Even the customers are pleasant. The baristas are always friendly and eager to help. Especially Piper. Nobody makes a cup like Piper does. Talk about heaven in a cup. You drink her coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink her coffee. I couldn’t think of a better and more competent shift lead. Never have I once had an unpleasant experience here.
