Their pupusas are ok, just ok. Nothing special! Maybe I’m just spoiled, but having grown up in San Francisco with plenty of Salvadorean friends, I’ve had good pupusas! These were rather bland. They really deserve a 3 star, but I’ll be generous and give them 4 stars, maybe I’ll give them another try in another day but not excited about it. Did I mention the place needs to be cleaned up and not have it so run down?

For many years is my favorite popusas place and is always recommended to family and friends. Five years ago, I gave 5 stars, and now I'm going to edit my review and only give 2 stars. Popusas are delicious, but yesterday, Saturday, 3/23/24, the lady that answered the phone was unpolite when I made my order. After when I went to pick up She was very "rude". My sister went a couple hours later and she coment to me too, the same bad attitude, from that person. Por muchos años a sido el mejor lugar de popusas, para mi en el area de la Bahia. Siempre lo recomiendo; mi familia y amistades de aquí y de Oakland vienen a comprar. Antes le había dado 5 estrellas y hoy lo edito a solo 2 estrellas. Ayer Sabado, 3/23/24, ordene popusas por teléfono. La mujer que me tomo mi orden fué mal educada. Pense que tal ves estaba muy ocupada. Pero cuando fui a recoger mi orden, no habia nadie en línea y fué grosera, prepotente...etc. Muy mal servicio. Casualmente mi hermana fué un par de horas después y me comento de su misma experiencia. Esta persona quiza es muy buena haciendo popusas, pero no atendiendo a las personas.

Of the times I have arrived at the place, it was becoming one of my favorites. The food was excellent. I always ordered popusas and the cabbage was always fresh. Right now the cabage mix is almost out of order. How can it be possible that they really offer food like this to their customers?

I order Chile verde plate. It was overpowering with some type of citrus-lime sauce. The food portions are too small and expensive.I only see that in fine restaurants. Somone recommend this place to me so I went with this girl I like (she is real hot) and was very dissapointed. supposed to be a El Salvadoran place and is not it's more like a taqueria. It is not a restaurant. I love Mexican food too don't get me wrong. They should not be together for instance you don't go to a sushi bar and get Chinese or Thai food. Thats just wrong. I'm only giving it 1 extra star because the girl went there with told me she liked it. ( I know...

VERY LOUSY SERVICE.

TODAY, THURSDAY JULY 10TH, 2025, I ARRIVED AT 8:20 PM TO ORDER PUPUSAS.

THE CASHIER LADY, AFTER WAITING IN LINE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES WITH JUST 1 CUSTOMER BEFORE ME, TOLD ME THAT IF I ORDERED PUPUSAS, THE PUPUSAS WOULD BE READY AROUND 9:00 PM.

MOREOVER, SHE TOLD ME THE PUPUSAS WOULD BE ONLY TO GO..

AS A RESULT, I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES TO GET PUPUSAS AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN THROWN OUT TO EAT IN THE PARKING LOT.

I HOPE JOSE LUIS THE OWNER TAKE ACTION IN THE SCENARIOS.

IT IS WAY EASIER TO LOOSE A CUSTOMER WITH NEGATIVE ATTITUDE, THAT TO BRING AND KEEP CUSTOMERS...

Honestly, this place has the most delicious and authentic tasting pupusas around. Other items are good as well, but if I'm going to treat myself to some good tasting comfort food, this is my "go to spot." I have lived 2 blocks away for 5 years and just happened to stumble in about a year ago. Since then I haven't gone anywhere else.
