This review is for the website, if I could give less than one star I most certainly would. Never have I ever experienced such hassle and frustration when purchasing something online. The entire process was nothing but problematic. To start my credit card was flagged for being fraudulent, there is nothing wrong with my credit card as I have used it before and after trying to make a purchase with Best Buy online. I called my credit card and authorized it as my order. Once again I tried making my purchase only to have the address unable to be verified despite it being the address tied to my account and it being my mailing address. Since my address was not able to be verified I tried using my PO box only to see that the specific item I was ordering could not be delivered to my PO box. Running out of options I tried getting it sent to my father's house and after 4 attempts I saw a welcomed sight, my order had been confirmed! Letting out a sigh of relief I logged out of my Best Buy account and was just about to close my laptop when much to my chagrin I got a text message saying my order had yet again been cancelled. After calling customer service I was told that my account had been locked and I would no longer be able to make purchases online unless I go into my local Best Buy store and show my ID, my credit card, and proof of address. I am disabled and incapable of getting to my local Best Buy store without much pain and difficulty so I shop online out of necessity and despite telling the customer service agent I was unsuccessful in getting any hold on my account waived. To make matters worse the item I tried purchasing five times is only available online, so even if I made it to a store I would be out of luck. Now let me say the customer service agents I spoke to were friendly and were just doing their jobs so my frustration is not placed with them. I don't think I will be doing business with Best Buy any more partly because I am unable to get to a store in person to prove I am who I say I am and partly because this whole ordeal was...
Read moreWent in 0n 03/13/2014 How this store is still in business is an absolute mystery to me. I have never had such consistently bad experiences (and its been for years now). I honestly don't know why I keep giving them more chances. The employees are not trained and have no product knowledge. A customer should never have to correct an employee by simply reading off the box to show they are wrong lol. I typically wont shop at this location anymore, but today my local electronic store was sold out of something I needed, so I called the San Rafael Best Buy first to make sure they had the product. The kid on the phone told me they had 3 (even though the recording told me he couldn't tell me quantity). I then told him specifically, "I have had issues with this store in the past, can you actually go check and see that you have it". He said "he was not aloud to leave his post but assured me they had them". I stupidly drove to the store to find out, of course they didn't actually have them! Oh and that was after I stood around waiting for at least 7 minutes and 24 seconds. I know this because that is what the timer on my phone told me after I started it after I had noticed it was taking forever to get help. Ok so then no one can find my product that I just drove 20 miles for and the guy assured me was in stock. About twenty minutes of searching the store and I ask to speak to a manager. He did not seem eager to help at all. Very pissed off look on his face (YOU ARE THE MANAGER! BE FRIENDLY!). I can go on and on forever about how bad this store is. Email me for plenty more examples, and even some funny photos of timers and things I have to show how pathetic this location is. Oh I would also like to point out that if an employee wants to talk about a customer, WAIT TILL THEY LEAVE THE STORE!!! I'm not blind, I can see you and I can see you both constantly looking over at me with that ugly look as you talk and point at everything I was just talking about. Enjoy the store while your open! Cus lord I don't see it being much longer. What a...
Read moreThis starts rough, but it has a happy ending. We spent around $2,200 on a Bosch washer and dryer. We were told it would take about 4 weeks to arrive. It arrived in 6 and it took about 8 to get it delivered, but they still have not installed it.
Best Buy uses a 3rd party delivery service called DSI out of San Leandro. We received a call from a dispatcher that the washer and dryer were ready for delivery. They delivered on week 8 at the end of the 4 hour time frame, but one of the delivery guy's back was not good so they could not take my old washer a dryer away. Without removing the old one, there was no room for the new. Plus, they forgot the plug for the dryer. The washer and dryer were placed on the deck. That evening we arranged (and they gave me their word) that the installers would come back 2 days later (after I cancelled my plans) between 4PM and 8PM and they never showed up. Not even a phone call. We set another appointment (again after cancelling my plans) for today between 8 AM and 12 PM. Again, they were a no show and I had to call them to make other arrangements.
The fun part is that if you buy with $0 down and $0 percent interest you still have to make payments even if the appliances don't show up or are not installed.
So, after the 3rd blow up I emailed the CEO and copied a regional VP and a regional director. This was on Saturday, mid day. In about 30 minutes I received a call from the head of DSI customer service. He had been contacted by Best Buy executive management to fix things right away. On Monday the old washer & dryer were removed, and the new ones installed. They also compensated my spouse and I for the inconvenience. Best Buy, thank you for your great...
