Flatiron — Restaurant in San Rafael

Terrible service by the female bartender. If the owner is reading this, it's your bartender, working Friday on 7/30/2021! She went as far as to scream at me, asking me "are you going to be OK?". I just wanted my oder, to go home to my baby daughter. This happened after I walked in, waited for about 30mins to just pick up my food order that I had phoned in 10mins before I arrived. The order included a bottled drink to go. She missed this and proceeded to ignore me again, so I waited another 15 to 20mins, I had to get the attention of the wait staff, he declined to do anything but to tell me to ask the bartender. So I went back to the bar asked her to read the receipt and she went ballistic, threw a fit, grab the to go container and mad she made a half as*ed, watered-down "GoldenState", slammed the drink infront of me and walked off mad. I grab the half empty container (they charged me $24 for this! Yes just a half empty sugar container, I didn't know it was watered-down until I got home). I didn't want to deal with her any more so I placed it in the bag and went home.. By the time i got home, after an hour of nonsense, the food was cold and soggy. This $80 meal was ruined by the entitled Bartender! I do have recipes with order times and chip read time stamps (visa). I will upload later! And photos of the half empty drink. If the bartender is overwhelmed, maybe she should ask for help and NOT yell at paying customers and throw...

The Flatiron is the #1 Sports Bar in the Bay Area. Alex & Lisa have a done a great job resurrecting the Flatiron with new school concept and momentum which includes craft cocktails, a selection of over 40 beers, and the Eclectic food menu with fresh organic ingredients, and local farmers. My favorite app is Calamari with Bingo Bob's cocktail sauce, Mom's tacos, pulled pork tacos, and build out your own burger. The AV & sound system are well thought out and inspire you. The staff including the Sous Chef, Shaffer the bartender, and Brenna, are reflections of Alex and Lisa, who are solid individuals. Alex & Lisa could have created a nice bar, restaurant, in the city or another town in Marin or Sonoma. They decided to create a place for us in San Rafael. The beer was good. The service was good. The atmosphere was distinctly American bar.

We've wanted to stop-in here for years and finally did.

Wife ordered tacos, they were good. I ordered a burger, medium-well, because I like a crust on my burger (was hoping for a sear). However, at medium-well, the burger should be somewhat pink on the inside. It wasn't. It was overcooked and hard. I was disappointed. However, the meat -what was left of it- was good quality. The tacos had good quality ingredients, too.

Ergo, I had to remind myself: it's a bar that serves food; it's not a restaurant. It's a bar. 8 stars / 3 categories = 2.666, round up to 3.

If there is to be a next time, then I'll order the burger medium rare and hope the cook...
