Wife was craving for Chinese food and decided to try New Moon since it's close to us. She went there ordered chicken chowmien, Spicy orange chicken, and chicken fried rice to go .They say if the food looks good it taste good. As soon as I open to go boxes I can already tell this is not good. I tried the spicy chicken orange and man I don't taste and orange flavor at all, it's like they just fried the chicken and add some chili peppers to make it spicy. Noodles on chowmien looks like they need tanning because it is white as hell compare to what I had before that has brownish color to it which you can tell that they didn't put enough sauce on that dish to add flavor. Chicken fried rice need some flavor as well and it doesn't look appetizing. We are disappointed the fact I'm expecting the food is gonna be good since this restaurant seems always busy thinking they serve really good food. I'm not a professional food critique but I have tried too many chinese food in my life to tell these dish we had isn't good compare to some chinese restaurant. I even said to my wife Panda Express's orange chicken has more flavor than theirs. If the dish is good 2 out of 3 maybe I can give it a try one more time but 3 dishes that doesn't sit well on my palate is a NO NO to us. I recommend to order orange chicken and chicken chowmien and see if they cook it differently now after posting this.
P.S. the vietnamese restaurant (Pho') beside them...
Read moreHad occasion to have lunch here recently. Good news, they offer luncheon-specials even on weekends. Food itself is good. I had the mongolian chicken luncheon/$l3.00. The pork fried rice had very few pieces of pork in it but it was tasty. The chicken was hot/taste but the sauce was a bit sweet [a little different than I'm used to for any mongolian creation]. Portions were large, I didn't finish. My only real negative was, the whole dish was luke warm, not hot/temperature. As I was the only [early] diner in the place, I suspect the food was pre-cooked/made and just warmed to serve or wasn't wok'd long enough. The appetizer/fried wonton/2 pcs, was also warm, as was the sweet sauce over it. The food would have tasted SO much 'better' if it was cooked just a bit more [I even some raw onions in the chicken]. I'll return, just to see if the food is normally...
Read moreThey just lost a permanent customer. Cook is NOT WEARING MASK! I waited 30 minutes for my food this evening outside, because everything is closed...I saw the cook in the back without a mask walking back and forth, scooping food into boxes, no mask. When the guy went to hand me my food I asked "Is the older man in the back wearing a mask?" He matter-of-fact said "No". I asked for a refund. They complain during a pandemic that they have to close, and then they do nothing to stop the spread. But hey, the guy handing the bags out is masked because you know, appearance. They just lost a ten year customer....
