I feel that this little restaurant is the nicest and best place to stop in and grab a delicious bite to eat! Here is why: not only is the food super good, and I mean like tasty to the max and diverse and a well priced menu for being up here in Northern Idaho on top of being located in a touristy area like Sandpoint, but anyway the owner and staff working there are such wonderful people! On top of the fact that you can bring your fur babies with you and dine outside with them comfortably and then when I brought my mom(visiting from FL.) and my newborn, to grab a quick bite to eat because we were starting to feel a little hangry and just "needed the food to go", but then decided no let's stay and eat here and needed help unloading the stroller from the trunk; Jeff one of the waiters was on it, great guy that he is :). Plus Brandon the owner, was super sweet as well and easy to talk with and engaged in enjoyable conversation as well as listened to be ramble/nag at him that he "needs a changing station in the women's bathroom" to which his on it response of "yes I know and have one ordered and on the way" solidified that I will be returning to dine and enjoy the times I get down to Sandpoint and eat at Baxter's on Cedar! So as for word of mouth, well my word is that truly this is a place you want to try out, if you are hungry for some really yummy food and want great customer service go here and I'll be sharing this with everyone I...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went in for a quick bite the other night at four o'clock and was told we could only order from certain items, that dinner would not be served until 5:00. But before that we were barely greeted by a man sitting in a corner who stayed seated and told us to sit in the window. Not the best start. I ordered a salad and my boyfriend got the sliders. It seemed to take a bit to get our meals. We noticed another couple that came in after us had bread brought to their table, and others seem to be served certain things ahead of us. (As if they were allowed to order dinner even though it was nowhere near 5:00 still.) There was no one in there when we entered save for a couple people sitting at the bar, but a few other couples came in after us. My salad was really small and did not fill me up, there were only two sliders for him. Everything tasted fine, but was skimpy and nothing special. Overall our experience wasn't that great. Highly disappointed in the service and we both felt as though they did not want us in there. We were dressed fairly nice and are in our 30's so it's not like we're some young punk kids, but even so, that is not the way a service based business should be towards their patrons. We have no...
Read moreI had the “Maine Lobster Roll” and I was disappointed. I’ve had excellent lobster rolls before, in Spokane (Makiel’s, High Tide/Zona Blanca), and a similar item for a similar price is what I was expecting. Lobster rolls should be rich, but what I got tasted like carbs. Too much, too crusty bread. And the filling I can’t believe is more than 20% actual lobster. I don’t know what else was in there, it’s a mystery. Imagine a chicken salad sandwich without the chicken. It was something like that. To be fair, what I got was a way bigger portion than what I was expecting. But I only ate less than half of it, and picked the visible lobster pieces out of what was left. It just wasn’t very good, especially for the price ($29). They’d do well to make it much smaller so they don’t have to cheap out on the essential ingredient.
The service wasn’t awful but it wasn’t particularly good either. To be fair, they were pretty busy for a Tuesday night. I left a tip anyway.
I’m not angry, just...
