My mother has a severe dog allergy and this restaurant allows animals in their facility. Owner was sitting with the customer who owned the dog. Come here if you want giant dogs who lay in the middle of the walkway and bump into you while you get food. Noted most service animals have a vest and paperwork. This one did not. Naan is floppy and from frozen. Curry needs salt. Bad food. Bad management. Bad owner.
Response to owners comment: According to Idaho Statutes Title 56 Chapter 7 Section 4. Service animals are required to be on a leash. Upon initial entrance this dog was not on a leash. According Idaho Statutes Title 56 Chapter 7 Section 5 you are allowed to ask two questions of the service animals owner. Sounds like neither question was asked. Not strict. I encourage you to check your cameras as no yelling occurred. Your staff must not be able to be spoken to without a smile. Although it is hard to find workers so I understand the settling. Your âtrusted GMâ wasnât on site and/or never spoke to me. Youâre trusting your upset staff who cannot handle situations correctly. Itâs comical to think I would ever come back based on my experience. Food has always been subpar and dog hair flying through the air is unsanitary as your kitchen has an open window. The apology should be towards my family as we were forced to wait outside in the pouring rain with dirt flying in the air as a dog laid on the floor of your facility. If you check your cameras you will see people had to step around this giant dog to get through the isle. I would like to point out how kind your kitchen staff was as they delivered to go food outside in the pouring rain. However it sounds like a meeting with your front of house staff and âtrusted GMâ on how to recognize true service animals, good customer service, and how to decipher a complaint versus yelling is in order. A thorough owner would have reviewed footage and done some light research before...
Read moreDriven by this establishment many times and wanted to try it but never quite made it til this past Sunday. Looked like it was closed as the adjacent parking lot was shut down and empty. Thankfully, parking lot was closed for resealing but Utara was open. Restaurant has a very casual, welcoming feel. You order at a register and your food is brought to you. We sat outside which is not anything spectacular as far as a setting, but the weather was great and we enjoyed the picnic tables. We ordered samosas and pakoras for appetizers. Both were good and had excellent sauces, though they were very small portions.
Our main dishes came out quickly. My son had a chicken naan pizza which he gobbled down and I had chicken korma. My korma was good though the chicken was not excellent and a little tough. Food is good, not incredible.
Beers and ciders, however, are incredible. We had a tangerine beer which was outstanding as well as a huckleberry cider which was very flavorful, not particularly sweet but not too dry. Both were unusual and outstanding. We took home a 32 oz can of both which I think they can on the spot.
Service was friendly and acceptable though you don't get much in the way of traditional service.
Overall, a great spot, where a unique combo of good food and superb drinks combined for a really nice experience. Other than the beauty of the City and Winter Ridge Foods, I haven't had a draw to Sandpoint for a while. I...
Read moreLet me tell you the truth about this place. Let's see. Where should I start? The food was so disgusting that we didn't even eat more than Couple of bites and left the place. It is boxed frozen food. Not fresh cooked indian food. The best thing was the kombucha that we bought. The reason it was good? It's because it was canned and not from this place. If there was a way to give it negative 5 stars I would. Then the server asked me, "have you ever had Indian food before that you don't like this food what we served?" I was dumbfounded... I AM INDIAN.... You can look at me and clearly tell that I am indian... Don't waste your time don't waste your money you would be better going to some other place than going to this place. THIS IS AN INSULT AND DISGRACE to indian cuisine.... Will NEVER, EVER, GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN AND WARN EVERYONE ELSE who asks me if they should go to...
