Big Daddy's Pizza — Restaurant in Sandy

After having some terrible luck with a couple other pizza joints i decided to give Big Daddys Pizza a go!

If im not mistaken, the place has been under new management for a couple months now. The new manager, while young, seems to be trying his best to change the perceptions of this location. I normally try to order premade for speed and convenience.

Trip 1: Store was clean. Manager took order. Ordered x1 Pepperoni and x1 Cheese. Nothing premade so I waited about 15 minutes. Pizza was fresh, hot, and yummy.

Trip 2: Store was disheveled a bit, like after a dinner rush. Manager took order. Ordered x1 BBQ Chicken and x1 Cheese. Nothing premade so I waited about 10 minutes. Pizza was fresh, hot, and yummy.

Trip 3: Store was clean. Front desk employee (I forget name) took order. Ordered x1 Pepperoni and x1 Cheese. Cheese pizza was premade but no pepperoni premade. However, the manager noticed this and offered a pepperoni, sausage, and ham pizza in lieu of the pepperoni since it was cooked too early for its actual order. Wait time was 5 minutes and I applaud him for getting me a great solution. Pizza was fresh, hot, and yummy.

Trip 4: Store was clean. Manager took order. Ordered x1 Meat Lovers and x1 Cheese. Nothing premade so my wait time was about 15 minutes. The manager, in another effort to help get the good word out about the store, was offering a free order of breadsticks if customers did an in store google review. I declined the breadsticks.

Overall, I give the location 4/5 stars, instead of 5/5, due to wait times. The "Hot and Ready" slogan is posted around the store and on their website but I have never received it. If they can prep better for rush hour and lower wait times this could...

I've been ordering from this Big Daddy's for about 13 years now. The last few years have been a struggle. There is nowhere on their website for me to submit a complaint, and their phones go to employees out of the country, so I'm resorting to a review.

I think my biggest struggle is the absolute inconsistency. I just never know what I am going to get when I order Big Daddy's. Pizza--under cooked or overcooked? Garlic bread - partly burned and gross, or garlicky and delicious? Pepperoni a-plenty, or ten pepperonis total? I never know what I'm going to get and will therefore just go to Little Caesars. It's not great, but at least I know what to expect every time.

Last night I ordered online - which by the way I always have some kind of struggle with their ordering system; it's awful. I don't like calling because it's outsourced personnel instead of the people who are in the pizza store right around the corner from me. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and added garlic sauce. My pizza arrived WITHOUT PIZZA SAUCE. No marinara. Nada. A dry pizza with cheese on it. Add to that, it was under cooked, and was severely lacking pepperoni.

The pizza arrived 20 minutes after the promised time, cold. Mind you, I pick up my pizza myself 9 times out of 10. Delivery isn't a luxury I ever afford myself. But as I am potty training my toddler, I paid the delivery fee.

IF I could give zero stars i would. I order from the sandy/midvale location frequently and last Wednesday 1/18/17 I decided to use Big Daddy's to provide the pizza for the basketball team I coach. I called a head of time 2 hours actually. I spoke to a person there to explain that I was at Jordan High School and if they would be willing to deliver the pizza to me at the school. No problem they said...I was told by this person to order on line bc its faster and easier. I did so, then I called shortly after to make sure they were aware of the location for delivery and I was given a definite yes answer. Almost 2 hrs go by I call back, still no pizza, I was told again that the pizza would be there at Jordan High School, confirmed the address. OK... stressing out...still no pizza. By this time it was 30 minutes after practice and I am looking like an idiot with no pizza to give my players..THAT I PROMISED! When i get home...there it is 70$ worth of cheese and pepperoni pizza. Not only was it delivered to the wrong place, they just allowed my brother..not me, to sign for it bc i paid with a CC, but I pre-tipped them 10$. I am disputing the charge bc it was not delivered as promised and they just let any random person sign the CC slip. I was so furious I couldn't even think straight. I will be contacting the corporate office and complaining. I will never use there...
