This was a first: LAYDEE working at coffee shop threatends to call the cops on me because I told her my order was wrong!...I went into Red Eye Express Coffee for the third time ever, the first two experiences were great. Today, there was a lady with long, dark, straight hair, and blue eyes, wearing a white beanie, who I hadn't seen there before. I ordered my 16oz double shot Americano, I as I always do. She charged me over $4 for an Americano that is generally around $2, but I let it go. I sit down and crack my book, and when I sip my drink I realize it is a Mocha. I stand up and carry it to the counter and ask the lady if she made me a mocha. She says, "Yes," and without pause follows that up with, "That's what you ordered." Immediately she places blame on me. (Good business approach, regardless of who's right.) I tell her that I've never ordered a mocha in my life, and that I'm sure I ordered an Americano. Instead of correcting the issue, she again expresses that she KNOWS I ordered a mocha. By this point the tension is already through the roof, as this woman's main goal was not serving customers, but making sure it is clear that she did not make a mistake. She even goes as far as to get in an eye-to-eye stand off with me during the disagreement. I then ask her, "Who's more likely to make a mistake, the person who orders one same drink every day, or the person who takes hundreds of different orders every day?" At this point her reaction intensifies, and she states that I need to sit on the couch and wait because she is calling the cops!!! Am I missing something? Is it illegal to correctly accuse an employee of getting your order wrong? LOL! At this point I could sit and laugh at how ridiculous this exchange is, as I only wanted the correct drink, but I decide to leave the mocha on the counter and walk out. As I'm walking to the door this LAYDEE keeps yelling how she's calling the cops, and yelling to me that I should never come back. To be clear, I won't be going back. I went straight to Sunset Coffee to order an Americano (as I paid over $4 and still did not have one), and couldn't help but tell them about the altercation. The guy at Sunset laughs and hands me an AMERICANO, then says this one is on her, and does not charge me for the coffee. I'm the one to blame here, as I should have never went anywhere but Sunset Coffee in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRating 2 stars, even though my experience on 08/03 was 0. I was a regular here, the coffee and other baristas have always been great. But this morning changed my experience and I donāt think I will be back. I took a friend here because my previous experience had always been good.. The barista at the drive thru was very condescending, had an attitude and treated us as if we were stupid when we had to come back to the drive through because our coffee did not taste right at all. I had been here plenty of times before and never did it taste bad like this. She proceeds to tell us they donāt do refunds and seemed very put out to remake our drinks. There was little to no ice in our ICED coffees. You could not taste any espresso or coffee flavor what so ever. She finally admits ātheir espresso machine hasnāt been workingā??? Seems a bit odd for a coffee shop whose espresso machine isnāt even working, isnāt giving refunds or informing their customers of this? The second coffees we got angrily handed to us tasted WORSE. I would have happily taken my business elsewhere if she was honest about the espresso machine being broken in the first place. You also have to honk to get someone at the window and unfortunately I have drove away because no one will come to the window after waiting almost 10 minutes. Save your time and money and go to Notom coffee 5 minutes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOver the dozen or so times I've been here I have found that this is just an unreliable business. Sometimes it's a good experience, others not so much. I don't even mind the apathetic, unprofessional, and generally disengaged customer service from the staff... It's kind of a throwback to the coffee shops of the 90s that I used to visit when I was a kid. The problem here is that of the many times I've given this business a try, the coffee has never came out tasting good, the prices are on the higher side, and certain staff members are a little too much to take. Like I said, I don't need my rear end to be kissed, but when I have to stand outside the front door and wait for a staff member to finish their cigarette so the front door can be unlocked and my order to be taken, all during business hours mind you, then that apathetic charm loses its appeal. Today I went through the drive-thru at 8 a.m. and the entire place was closed and locked. No employees inside, no lights on. Did this place get shut down or condemned? Or do they just keep hiring employees that don't care about showing up to work? I think today was the last straw with me and Rise & Grind Coffee. Which is sad, because I would rather support a local business than a chain store, but at this point I feel like they've made my...
