In Sanford for the holiday weekend and my sister in law asked if I’d tried the Big Dill Smash Burger at Sonic. Our Sonic in Georgia is not participating in this promotion to our disappointment. So, when she said the Sanford location was, we decided to stop on our way out of town to try it. We got the double smash burger with tots and the Picklerita slushie. Let me start with the slushie. They were out of boboa but I opted for it without because I really wanted to try it. BEST SLUSHIE EVER!!! I love the flavor. It’s the perfect combination of lime and pickle flavors. Best slushie I’ve ever had, though my husband said he’s on the fence of whether he likes it or not because it’s so different. Tots were good and fresh, but I didn’t get much pickle flavor from them until the last few at the bottom of the container. That said, they were cooked perfectly and I have zero complaints. On to the burger… I know I’m overusing the word “best,” but like I told my husband after the first bite… “This is the best burger I’ve had out in a long, long time.” When I want a fast food burger, this is exactly what I hope for but rarely ever get. The smash patties were crispy on the edges but juicy. The bun was soft and fresh. I didn’t realize it was a dill ranch sauce though. I genuinely thought it was just mayo and still, I’m not complaining. The lettuce, in my opinion, was unnecessary but added a nice texture and crunch. But the pickles… those to me, were the star. Perfectly dill, perfectly crisp. Overall, for me, this burger was a total package. It and the slushie were a solid 10/10 each. I realize this is from the perspective of someone who loves dill pickles and always asks for extra on my sandwich, but I think it’s worth a try even if you don’t love pickles like I do. Service lacked a little at first. We went through the drive through, the attendant took our order and then interrupted midway through and asked us to wait a minute. We ended up waiting 10 minutes before someone else came over the speaker and asked to take our order. Not sure what was going on there in the store, but the second ordering experience was flawless. All in all, it was a great experience and I hope Sonic keeps these items as a regular options...
Read moreThis restraunt is very, very slow. Most of the time the person at the winow can't hear you & is sometimes very rude. Though not always the same person. This week, they could not hear us so we had to repeat. We did get order places & the person was nice. We were surprised to get to the window so quickly. She gave us our lunch an as we drove off I realized we only got half our order. So we drove back through the line with a longer wait. Again the person could not hear us at all. After several tries to tell her that our order was not complete she finally came out to the car to see what the issue was. She quickly went in to check to see what happened. They gave us the rest of the meal & said they were sorry that the kitchen didn't give the second bag to the girl. So we got home & started to eat. The burgers were almost like rubber & did not have the ingredients on them as we ordered. Unfortunately they tasted as bad as they looked. It had been a while since we had stopped there because the service was so bad. I guess it may be even longer next time if we ever go back. Service was lousey & food even worse. It used to be our go to place but unless something changes we would not even reccomend Sonic to anyone. We do pray your business goes back to the past customer service & the delicious food we...
Read moreI have three horrible experiences with this location. It’s a disgrace to Sonic as a franchise. My first experience here I was in line 30 minutes before close but got to the window an hour afterwards just to be told they turned the grill off. I was never refunded my money, I only returned the next day and was given an order that wasn’t even my exact order as compensation. The manager even gave me a coupon to a completely different restaurant to apologize. My second experience was on a day I pulled into one of the drive in machines and the presses the button to order. I went 25 minutes with no response before I just left. Lastly was tonight, tonight broke the camels back. Tonight I went to give this location one last try and the drive through speaker isn’t working, no big deal there’s someone texting the orders to inside. I wait about 5 minutes until it’s my turn to order and after I give my entire order I’m finally told my total and that it’s cash only. Why wouldn’t this be the first thing you tell people before you take their order? I decided I’m just going to Zaxby’s. As a lesson to anyone who’s really craving Sonic this isn’t the place to go, drive the extra 20 miles to Spring Lake if you need to. I’d give this place 0...
