Hey y'all! If you want some good southern comfort food this is the place to go. It's only open for breakfast and lunch. At breakfast I usually get a sausage and cheese omelet with potatoes. What? No hash browns? No. Potatoes sliced thinly then then fried. Trust me you will not miss your cheaply frozen reheated hash browns. That's my favorite but there are so many breakfast options to list. So why not venture out. Buy the way breakfast is served from 5:30 am til 11:30 am . So even you sleepy heads can get in on this action. Next is lunch. Plenty of sanwiches and plates are on the menu... But what you want are the specials on the board. Specials and sides change daily. With the special you get a main and two sides. Plus biscuits, rolls, or hushpuppies. Get the biscuits (trust me...they are so good ). Conveintly when you go to pay you can pick a sheet with this month's specials. Pro tip... Pork schnitzel... This is the worst place to go to, they messed up my order, put the strawberry shortcake in the bag upside down and it leaked all over the biskets and homefries, so I called back up there and asked to speak to a manger she said she was the manger and that she put the stuff in the bag but as soon as I walk to the car I pulled it out the bag and it was all leaking out, she couldn't work because she was all up in this old man face sitting and the bar, I had to throw most of the food away because it was wet and soggy but I will never go back, and I was missing one homefry and two strawberry shortcake but...

I've been eating here since I was a kid; my whole family enjoys the hospitality of (and has worked at) Mrs. Wenger's restaurant. In my opinion, they have the best sweet tea, best buttered toast, best potatoes and eggs, and best fried chicken. I haven't tried anything yet that I haven't liked. It's also the cheapest place in Sanford to get a plate of grits, fatback, or homemade redeye gravy, not to mention the outstanding service and vintage atmosphere.
