Dropped in again today and had freshly made Pork Pie, Beans & Eggs for the special. Fantastic. And I dont think i mentioned in my original review, that the value for money here is excellent, prices are so reasonable for proper portions. Hard to beat. Staff again friendly and smiling.
In a post-industrial neighborhood of Sanford, this place has all the hallmarks of a good diner, quirky name, people waiting for a table, a narrow space to squeeze into..I had only about a 2 minute wait and everyone after me had slightly more but it is Saturday morning....so firstly the service team was friendly, efficient and had a sense of humour. No waiting and my order was in. I had the Italian Omelette which has hot sausage, green peppers, onion and provolone. It was prepared properly (not some giant folded frittata) and had just enough heat in the sausage without being overwhelming. They offer home fries as either deep fried or on the griddle. I opted for my preference off the griddle and they were crispy enough and tasty enough. Coffee was also good. I like this little place a lot, they have outdoor seating and as soon as Maine has a weekend without rain, I'll be back. So far, in York County, this is the best I've found in the...
Read moreToxic owner!
We’ve always loved going to third alarm, there is great food and wonderful service.
HOWEVER, we had the pleasure of seeing the owner in action tonight.
The diner was incredible busy, and had only two (wonderful) servers Brianna and Mason (I think is her name). The owner came in and started berating these poor girls and micromanaging without offering a single ounce of help during the busy rush. The two servers had everything under control and did not have one unhappy customer.
Knowing that third alarm is owned by such a toxic woman makes me really sad, and wonder how she treats her other employees who are out of sight behind the kitchen. She didn’t even make an attempt to be quiet with the condescending remarks. She was speaking to them loud enough for everyone at the bar to hear. I would hate to work for such a toxic owner. It saddens me because we’ve been coming here for years and it’s such a cozy...
Read moreWon’t be returning. Firstly there were flies flying all around the dining room. Not just one or two, but many. We ordered breakfast sandwiches, one with ham and one with bacon. When we ordered, the waitress asked if we wanted home fries or anything else to go with them. I asked her whether they came with the sandwich (it didn’t say so on the menu), and she said yes they did, so we each ordered the home fries with the sandwiches. The sandwiches weren’t bad. The home fries were not great. The larger pieces of potato were not fully cooked. We didn’t bother eating much of them especially since we didn’t think we were going to pay for them. However, when the bill arrived we were charged $2.75 for each small side of home fries (more than half the cost of each sandwich). On top of all that, there was a human hair on my plate. I’m giving 2 stars instead of just 1 because the staff...
