The best chips and hot sauce in Fort Worth and reasonable prices on great meals. Superb customer service and the waiters and waitresses are constantly on top of things in bringing refills to whatever you may need. I believe it's the best Mexican restaurant in the Fort Worth area and it's much, much cheaper than some of the high-priced chains.
UPDATE: 2022-04-22 I went and ate lunch again at El Paseo today. As always, they were busy but we were seated almost immediately. The server was spectacular and had a great attitude. They brought our chips and hot sauce out was our drinks real fast. And it didn't take too long for the meal to be cooked and brought out to us. But for some reason, today just wasn't as good as it normally is. I love El Paseo's food and hot sauce and chips. It's the best Mexican restaurant around in the Fort Worth area, in more specifically, in the NW Tarrant County area. But today the flavor just wasn't has good. It didn't taste bad at all but it wasn't as good as normal. Wasn't my taste buds? I don't really know but that didn't enjoy it as much today. I don't have anything bad to say about the restaurant and I don't think they did anything different with the food. The service was great and everything was great just as normal. I tend to think that it was my taste buds or allergies or something like that that was the reason for today's disappointment in the meal. I will definitely be back again as soon as I can get up there when I'm confident that the next time will be perfect as it always is. I really like the service and the food at the restaurant and the margaritas are good as well!
2022-12-29 UPDATE: Still the best and still my favorite Mexican restaurant in the North Texas area! I went tonight and had a great meal for a reasonable price! It's always great food and great service at El Paseo.
UPDATE 5/30/2023: This restaurant only gets better. I tried the combination plate today and it was superb. 3 enchiladas and one beef taco is what I chose. That, along with the superb chips and hot sauce and a margarita made for a great meal. One of the best things at this restaurant is the service. Our waitress was very friendly, did things fast, and was spectacular in performing her duties as a waitress. Everything was top-notch and there's no restaurant in the area that has such good service and food in my opinion. I've been eating here for over 30 years and I've never been...
Read moreUsually an excellent place to eat with very gracious service.
Called up there around 3:30pm on Christmas Eve to ask what time they closed because I was thinking about placing a to-go order. They said 5pm, so I proceeded to ask if I could place a to-go order for chips, salsa and queso. Before I could even get my order out of my mouth, the man on the phone said "we aren't taking to-go orders right now." Confused as to whether he meant they just weren't taking them over the phone at the moment, I proceeded to try to ask whether I'd be able to place a to-go order if I came up to the restaurant, and I guess he only half heard what I was asking or in a hurry to get me off the phone, because he said "Yes, of course. If you're here by 5pm, we'll be happy to serve you here."
Getting the impression he meant serve me as in dining in, I clarified "So I can place a to-go order if I come in person?" to which he clarified "No, we're too busy."
There was a time when restaurants were begging is to frequent them during the pandemic, and here I am being dismissed because I want to pay them for food, but I don't want to tie up any of their waitstaff or tables. Me ordering to-go is no different than ordering dine-in, having my food served, and then asking for a to-go box. Except for the latter takes up way more of your resources.
Ultimately, they made a concession to let me order chips, salsa and queso. The whole time I was waiting for my order, people were coming up and picking up to-go orders from Doordash. So I guess they're okay with to-go orders as long as their through a platform that takes an abhorrent amount of the profits from them?
To be honest, I knew a third visit in one week was going to be a little indulgent. Just didn't realize I was going to be made to feel like an...
Read moreTHEY DO NOT LIKE BLACKS AT THIS RESTAURANT!!!! I had a horrible experience with the waitstaff at this restaurant. I parked in the “to go” spot at this establishment. A young lady answered and took my order for a bag of tortilla chips. I explained to her that I had physical issues and wasn’t able to negotiate the ramp to go inside. She AGREED to bring my food outside. Simple right? I sat in this same spot, watching individuals go in and out for over 40 minutes. I finally called and asked what the issue was. I was then told by this same young lady, “I came out with the chips and I didn’t see your car. The “to go” parking spot is LITERALLY right in front of the door. THIS WAS A FLAT OUT LIE! I was quite disturbed, as I felt she was giving me a song and dance. The posted hours are until 9 pm. Our conversation was @8:45pm. She gave me another story and said, “Let me check with my manager”, placing me on hold once again. After a few minutes someone picked up the phone and hung it up. Once again, I called back. She then answered and said that it was “too late”, and that “We really don’t do that anyway”, mind you, after she AGREED t bring the food to my vehicle. This was a disgusting way to run off a customer. Word to the wise: As we know, it’s 2024, and Azle is still a VERY prejudiced area in Fort Worth, so IF YOU ARE BLACK OR HANDICAP, DO NOT EAT HERE! You will be treated like a second class citizen, trust me! I can’t imagine spending money at this “ ever. Good luck if...
